The elk chili is delicious, with big tender chunks of meat and a bit of spice to it. I’ve had it both on the hot dog and by itself, and been pleased both times. The pizza is fair if you manage your expectations–better than Little Caesars, but not by much. It’s usually available across the way in the bar. Staff don’t seem to know what’s in or out of stock on a Sunday evening after the rush is over, and by the end of the day some of them were visibly burnt out.

To be fair, this was their first full weekend being open and some of the food areas in the building were just becoming operational. The Deli is smack dab in the middle of grocery store shelves with drinks, snacks and fast food items. It seemed messy, crowded and sort of confusing before I took a moment to scope it out. So, I waited in a makeshift line at the deli counter and picked up some snacks for down the road. They had lots of amazing home baked cookies and pastries and the smell of fresh baked bread from their own in house bakery permeated the entire building. MMMmm so Good!

Was here several years ago and the food was bad then but it was to be expected. Thankfully I did not pay for the meal my friend did and I just threw my food in the garbage. The Pulled Pork sandwich had so much salt on it I think it could have killed a Bison. After watching who was making the food it made sense. My friend insisted on paying, I was much obliged not to eat the food. Anytime the food has been saturated in salt that meal is shot, cannot resurrect it.

This place is okay if you manage your expectations. They had a limited menu, which is to be expected. The employees were nice, but the check out line was very, very, very slow. Thankful they had canned Bublys (and for $1.50).

I loved the saloon. Guy was great, so many good tips and a good beer. Prices are a little high but not bad really. Thanks for being open.

Understand that when you’re eating here you’re a captive audience. Sure it’s overpriced, but that’s to be expected when you’re so far away from everything. The pizza we ordered came quickly, but it was doughy. We asked for it to be cooked more thoroughly and the manager happily complied. Unfortunately it didn’t help, but the great news is that they refunded our meal. I’d give the food 1 star, but Erica (the manager) gets 5 stars in my book. She provided absolutely excellent service.

Surprised to have a deli way out here. It was okay, but not the greatest and their prices are high. Overall I’m thankful I was able to get food while at the Grand Canyon North Rim

Good news – the girls behind the counter were nice. And you can get food that isn’t horribly overpriced – just a little bit overpriced. Bad news: Everything else. We were told 15-20 minutes for our pizza. It was closer to 40. And it ranks as among the worst pizza I’ve ever had – very doughy. We threw most of it away. Bring your own food to the park.

Some of the worst food I’ve ever eaten. Rivals hospital food…I’m serious. I don’t usually post reviews but felt obligated to save my fellow man from such torture.

Not bad food or prices for being so remote and on a national park.
