I’m in the area vacationing, from Maine. We wanted the authentic, down home cooking and experience. I loved the set up of the menu.pick your main dish and sides and dessert. i just did the plate meal, but the all you can eat would be great if you came super hungry. Caleb was our server, super attentive and warm. And we had others checking in on us as well, including Shirley! Would definitely recommend anyone in the area to stop in. And I LOVED the porch. we may come back tomorrow night for live bluegrass.

We used Shirley’s to cater a breakfast the day before our wedding for ~70 guests. The food was on time, hot, and delicious! Many of our guests commented to us about how much they liked the breakfast. Definitely recommend their catering services!

Do not come here if you are hungry or enjoy good food.

In retrospect I should have asked questions since I had never been there before. The food was good but it wasn’t what I was expecting. I ordered Fried chicken. I was expecting what you would get anywhere else. I received 2 boneless chicken breasts. I don’t particularly like chicken breasts boneless or not. The pineapple and cheese casserole was very good though.

The food was really good, and there was plenty of it. Served family style, you eat with who you came to the restaurant with, not with other families. We ordered our eggs, bacon and sausage. The potatoes, grits, biscuits and gravy, and cinnamon apples just showed up. The restaurant is also interesting to look at. From the old pictures on the walls to some vintage items on she shelf that spans the room. It is definitely worthy of stopping and enjoying.

We arrived at just the right time. Live bluegrass music band! I had fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and pineapple cheese casserole. All was delicious and the staff were attentive. We enjoyed Shirley’s very much.

This was not as I remembered from eating here in the past. Our food was just not as good- the country ham had obviously been reheated a time or two, the green beans were relatively unseasoned, the mashed potatoes did not seem homemade. Our waitress was very friendly, but the boy who bussed tables pestered us to death! He absolutely drove us nuts coming over to us repeatedly to get dishes from which we were still eating!!
