We stop at Bamboo every time we come to Portland! The vibe is great, upbeat; the service is good to great; but the food is hands down some of the most fresh sushi I’ve ever had. So good we dug in before snapping a pic! The Tuna Nigiri is a Must. Our first time visiting, it was the first raw I’d ever had; now it’s a must have for the table! It’s so smooth, like butter, yum.

Just left here for a late lunch and was excited to try this spot and try the crispy rice spicy tuna.

I’ve eaten sushi all over the country and this was the best I’ve had – bar none, on god, no cap, whatever the current vernacular. The sushi is based beyond belief. The owners truly understand the fish/flavor pairings like no other sushi establishment. The king salmon sashimi was mind-blowing as was just about everything we ordered. Matt was a terrific server and kept our glasses full and our wants at zero. Come, eat, and see that my words don’t do Bamboo on 28th any real justice.

Bamboo is amazing, highly recommend. The tuna sashimi was wonderful and we just kept getting more until we couldn’t eat another bite. The rolls are also fantastic. It’s never hard to find something you can’t get enough of here.

The atmosphere was moody(in a good way), a server named Ryan was super helpful and quick. Food was amazing and delicious.

This was my 3rd time dining at this location and every time it just gets better. I added albacore to the Green Machine, highly recommend…it was so fresh and flavorful! The Rainbow roll is always a winner and the scallop nigiri was the perfect level of spicy.

Stopped in at Bamboo Sushi yesterday with my partner. We really enjoyed our visit. I remember commenting that the rainbow roll and shrimp tempura roll both had a flavor clarity I haven’t found elsewhere in Portland yet, and the ingredients seemed very fresh.

Staff have been universally friendly, kind and efficient in all three of the locations I have tried. I was addicted to the spicy edamame at first bite. The generously proportioned spicy tuna hand rolls are delicious.

Had an awful experience here. We ordered online on a Tuesday, and we were told our takeout food would be ready at 7:10. We arrived at 7:15 and they acted like they had no idea why I was there looking for my food. They said they would check on it, and then continued to take in other guests. The entryway was incredibly crowded, there was nowhere to stand that isn’t in another guest or a workers way. The music was so loud that I had to plug my ears. I am disabled and have sensory issues, so standing in one spot, surrounded by people and loud noise was a horrible experience. I continued to wait for 20 more minutes while the hosts sat more and more dine-in guests, completely avoiding eye contact with me. There was at least two other people waiting for to-go food that they completely ignored.

After many failed experiences in the world of sushi in Portland, we finally found our spot in this gem of a place. Nigiri quality is best in town along with plenty of complex and exciting rolls – yes the green machine is a favorite for a reason, don’t miss it! The cauliflower app was also one worth coming back for. All in all, great experience with a quite sidewalk table and great, friendly service. Also there was an ever revolving door of folks picking up take-out, so I know it’s not just me that finds their food tasty. Thanks team Bamboo. So happy to have your level of quality and care in the city!
