I recently had the pleasure of dining at Moonstar Chinese Restaurant, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a vibrant atmosphere that transported me straight to the heart of China.

I was planning on stopping at the Chinese restaurant in Brodhead on my way home from Madison Friday night rush hour. Something told me to call just to see if the were open; recording said they’d be closed for an extended period of time. I opted to stop here and take food home.

The lady at at the register was so rude. She under eyed the whole she snatched my money from me and threw my change back in my hand. I ordered the General Tso chicken it was dry like it was sitting up long b4 I got there. The only thing that was good was the rice.

Great food, I got shrimp fried rice. Very good rice and there was a lot of shrimp in it. I also got the crab rangoon. It was ok, pretty sure there was no crab though. what I didn’t like was that it was served with no red sauce, which killed the whole thing.

We got Moonstar takeout for the first time this week and loved it. The service was very friendly and the food was amazing! We had the beef and broccoli, dumplings, and egg drop soup which were all so simple and so tasty. We will definitely be back. It was a great price for the portions.

Im honestly shocked by the reviews. Either people haven’t really experienced good food or are lying to you. Honestly some of the worst food I have tried. I gave it a few tries and each time very poor. I hate left over chicken it does have a different taste and when I ordered one of there dishes I could tell it was reheated and not made fresh. The beef is chewy and the ragoons tasted like they were fried in oil that has not been changed in a long time. Chinese food is one of my favorites but this is not good. Honestly the quality of food in this area is poor everywhere which sucks. Drive 10 minutes and get in Madison if you want good food. Also way more expensive than other Chinese.

Not only does this page say it’s all you can eat but the sign that you can see from the road says and I quote “Buffet”. We took a different way home out of our way and after waiting in line we were matter-of-factly told that they only have the buffet at lunch. The sign is very deceptive and the staff was not even apologetic about the misinformation provided.

I’ve been eating this gigaslop since the family owned Ming Moon back in the early 2000’s prior to opening their restaurant. The food is quality compared to a lot of frugal Asian restaurants and the portions are massive for the price. Their Mapo Tofu is better than every upscale place I’ve been to and I’ve traveled all over the United States. It’s not spicy but if you ask for maximum spice it’ll hurt tomorrow. You can ask for Mapo with pineapple sesame oil instead of chili oil and they will ablige if you’re a wuss or don’t have an iron gut.

Our oven died on Christmas Day. Moonstar was open. We picked up carry out and all agreed it was an excellent choice. Great food and no dishes. Christmas Miracle!

Decent Chinese buffet. The General Tso’s Chicken was overdone, but the Beef and Mushrooms was quite good.
