A hidden gem. Saw this place on our way to a nearby shop and glad that we stopped by for dinner. First the banh mi – you have to pick the pork belly and def among the most delicious I’ve ever had!! The chef did not shy away from incorporating a substantial fatty part, but most of the fat must be cooked away and what you got were pieces of meat/fat that were so rich in flavor and melt in your mouth and with super al dente skin. An incredibly indulgent experience with the fluffy rolls (crispy crust) and mayo, nevertheless balanced by the pickled carrots and daikons. The noodle bowl was equally good – loved the garlic shrimps which were so tender and juicy.

Best kept secret on Montana Ave! Alvin / owner makes you feel welcome as soon as you walk through the door and remembers repeat clients by name. His wife Pam, makes magic in the kitchen and nails the dishes every time. The pork belly is so tender and all the dishes I’ve tried tried are packed with flavor. There is something on the menu for everyone and I’ve personally witnessed how much joy kids get from eating at Bun & Mi. I look forward to my visits each time and check their IG for specials like beef noodle soup or curry

I am always looking for new places to try and found Bun & Mi. What a great addition to the Santa Monica area. The pork belly banh Mi is delicious. I’ll definitely be back for lunch. I would also recommend the blueberry lemonade. Very friendly staff.

Wow, I’ve eaten a lot of shrimp with noodles at authentic Vietnamese restaurants but none compares to this place. They use better veggies and the shrimp was ever so delicious!!!

Delicious and filling bánh mì sandwiches! Ran by a beautiful couple, Alvin and Pamela, who were very nice and proactive while we were there. They were very generous to every customer there and proactively checked in to see if there was anything they could get them or if there was feedback for the kitchen.
