We moved to the area several months ago and had considered eating here a few times, but were deterred by some of the negative reviews. To those reviewers: fie on you, and a pox on your houses! I wish we had ignored those reviews and tried Ixtapa sooner!

The plate was hotter than the food. The chips were stale, and the salsa was flavorless. The margarita tastes like sugar and tequila. Too bad, because it’s a good location and a nice place with good service.

I’ve gotten takeout from here twice, and it’s been disappointing both times. Food is flavorless (I’ve had both the pork and the seafood) and the plates are mostly rice and beans to make the portions seem larger than they actually are.

Got takeout from here for the first time. Delicious food! Generous portions! Prices were fair. Our order came with plenty of sauces and some tortilla chips which was a nice surprise. I would highly recommend this place, looking forward to going again.

Place has gone downhill over the last 5 years I’ve come here, at this point it’s not worth it.

We have been coming here seldomly over the past five years, mainly due to location, but today the quality of the food was the best it has ever been! So excited and hope this is the new norm because the location is perfect and the people are nice. If the food could be as good as it was today we would come back weekly! (instead of 1-2 times per year). We had a taco salad, chimmichurri tacos and an ixtapa burrito.

Solid spot. It’s hard to give a review on the service and atmosphere because I went during a down time. The food was pretty good and I like the presentation of the rice & beans in the tortilla cups. I had the shrimp and bacon tacos which were pretty good.

Staff were amazing handling a busy cinco de mayo crowd on a Friday night. Food was hot and fresh. Drinks were tasty. We got chicken wings, queso dip, and guacamole for appetizers. So good! Highly recommend all 3. Dinner was delicious. Can’t wait to go back when I’m in the area again.

Not really sure why I keep coming back. The food was bad. I had Arroz Con pollo and it was slopped on half the plate over dried out rice. The chicken was overcooked and dry. Everything tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. I can’t figure out why there are so many great reviews. I live in Watertown and I’ve given them at least 5 chances. Every time, the food is mediocre to bad. Either flavorless, overcooked, or both. The salsa tastes like it comes straight out of a jar, the chips are slightly stale, and the general presentation of the food is awful. Service is OK. Fast and friendly. The food just doesn’t justify my return.
