I wish I could give Mosca’s more than 5 stars. Very small place but the food is fantastic. First heard about this place on the show “Somebody Feed Phil”. It was talked about very highly on the show, and boy were they were right!

One of the best family owned restaurants in New Orleans area. Must try the breaded oysters, sautéed shrimp, or the spaghetti and meatballs. They have a long history and their recipes flavor will keep people going back time and again. Make sure you bring cash. They have an ATM onsite, but this is a cash only restaurant.

A great restaurant. Food, atmosphere, and service was exceptional. Handicap accessible with adequate parking. Some of the dishes we had were shrimp mosca, chicken La grande, spaghetti, oyster mosca. All were excellent. Remember most dishes are served family style which means enough for more than one person per dish. We brought our own wine. There is a $30 corking fee. I would recommend reservations. If you cannot reach them by phone, there is a email address on website. We had so much food instead of individual pics I took a video of meal in progress.

We called the Wednesday before to reserve what was the last available time-slot on the following Saturday night. They called us back the night before our reservation to confirm (Nice). It resulted in a late dinner, ~9:30, but every bit of the experience was worth the wait! Our party of 4 (a 5th backed out at the last minute) really enjoyed sharing spaghetti Bordelaise, oysters Mosca, spaghetti & meatballs, sausage Johnny and chicken Cacciatore with the house bread and a bottle of Moscato. Everything was so delicious and we all agreed that the Italian sausage and potatoes were the best we’d ever had. Kind of a hike from NOLA/French Quarter, but very much worth the small effort. We were all very pleased with our experience!

Looks like a roadhouse but is in fact a classic Italian restaurant, New Orleans style. We had a bit of everything – spaghetti and meatballs, chicken, shrimp, and baked oysters which were delicious . One may think it is too far out of town to bother but one would be wrong. Pay is cash only so be prepared.

It doesn’t matter that you have to drive 20 mi outside of downtown New Orleans to get to this place, just freaking go! I would drive a hundred miles to get… No, scrap that… I would drive 500 miles to be able to have this experience again.

Food is pretty good. Not what I expected for the price but tasty. Drinks were good. Bring cash as that’s all they take but if you forget, there is an ATM on site.

Mosca’s is always an event with many fun people, great food, and great times. An experience everyone should have at least twice in their lives. For me, I hope to make it 50 times or more. A restaurant that never goes out of style
