My benchmark for awesome Barbecue is Southern Soul, in Brunswick, Georgia. That being said, my palate is biased. In any case I found BBQ trio to be one of the few BBQ places that I would go back to. The service was fast and friendly. The prices were good for the size of the portions. I don’t think they will be winning any national BBQ contests, however their food is pretty good. I had the pulled pork sandwich. The pork was tender and juicy. Although I found that pork that is smoked for an extended time tends to be a little drier. I didn’t get a whole lot of that smokey aftertaste that makes great BBQ, but nonetheless it was still a good sandwich. The BBQ beans were good. I didn’t really see anything that set them apart though. My only real complaint was the lack of sauces available. There was a small dab of sauce on my sandwich and a small cup of extra sauce on my plate. Most BBQ places that I’ve been to have a variety of sauces to choose from. Secondly, the sauce was fine. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a food service type sauce, but hey it wasn’t bad. Overall not bad, and I would still chose this place any day of the week instead of a chain that doesn’t actually make their own food.

We gave this place ‘another try’ after going several times since they opened… The FIRST 2 TIMES were great…. (though we consider them slightly pricy.) The REST have been going downhill since!
