Anita’s Kitchen is an excellent choice if you want take out or to sit with a friend for a quick healthy lunch in downtown Detroit.

The chicken shawarma meat was absolutely unappetising and grey. Extremely dry as well. Perhaps it might have tasted better fresh from the store, but it was utterly vile as a takeout item.

AK downtown Detroit is a very nice place to grab a bite to eat. The atmosphere is nice and the STAFF IS AMAZING ! They certainly make you feel welcome and the food is divine. Always good, fresh, healthy and fast. Service with all beautiful smiles. My favorite lunch spot for the Anita’s Chop Salad with a Ginger Cookie .

I’ve never had such a great experience with fast food before. A galore of tasteful ingredients and perfectly seasoned meat is present in every dish. I tried the chicken shawarma bowl one day and had to come back the following day for a delicious grilled chicken pita. If you are an international visitor to Huntington Place, this is your place for lunch. (Be prepared for long lines, but the taste is worth the waiting.)

I went here for lunch after wanting to try some healthy food for a while. This place is an American styled middle eastern spot. I ordered a chicken shawarma bowl and it was okay. The chicken had a very unappealing color to it, it was almost white. However it did taste pretty good. You can tell it’s not authentic shawarma that’s shaved off, but it’s still pretty good. The tabouli was good and so was their garlic. However the hummus had a very strong taste to it, perhaps they put too much Lemon or tahini. Overall, it’s okay and the prices were fair.

The place has many options and is easy access from Huntington place and downtown. I had the chicken shawarma bowl and a smoothie. The food was too salty overall and the smoothie was too sweet. The accompanying pita bread was very good though.

So far, everything I’ve purchased was delicious! I’m giving a 4 star, only because I had a seasonal item recently where the brussel sprouts were overcooked to a slight burnt taste, the sweet potatoes were a mixture of biting into almost raw, to some being mushy, and the salmon though delicious, it was a bit firm. Maybe I should’ve said something?

The friendly staff and quick service at Anita’s are hard to beat. I eat there so frequently, they know me by name, and even when I deviate from my usual order, they always get my food right.

Good, fast , efficient service. One of my go to lunch spots located in Downtown Detroit. I recommend using the app to order ahead as this place can be very busy.
