Charming friendly local BBQ place. Meat and three. The corn cakes and pulled pork are excellent. Highly recommend the fresh strawberry shortcake. Pinto beans were too soupy for our taste. Cinnamon apple and green beans very good. We didn’t order it but others rave about the cheeseburgers and onion rings. Super friendly staff…clean.

No credit card! Carl’s has regular menu items, plates, specials, sandwiches, meats by the pound, home made corn cakes and rolls, assorted classic Southern style sides. Servers are terrific. Food is wonderful. I ordered a bbq plate with the extra meat and ate the left overs for three days. Carl’s decor is mostly hand painted, the designs are pigs, mostly, nearly everything is home crafted. You can read the paper, though it’s no longer a local publication so much as another version of USA today. Check the hours before you go so you won’t be disappointed when you realize this is not a late night hangout. Early to bed, watch the fire pit, eat, be happy.

Arrived late,one hour before they closed. No problem, but their policy is, cash or check only. Explained to them I only had a card, so I started to leave, then the waitress said sit down and eat ,you can mail us the money for the dinner. So I gave her my info, and as discussed The day I returned from Tennessee the check was in the mail. So I highly recommend Carl’s for the food and down right friendly people.

From out of town. Stopped by to pick up a couple pounds BBQ and sides to go. Took forever. Wasn’t notified when order was ready. Got home and order was wrong. They had substituted potato salad for slaw. No one in my family can eat potatoes on their diet and no one even likes potato salad at my house.. Had to feed it to the animals . BBQ and sides are not cheap

Went at lunch time on a Wednesday and it was pretty quiet, but the waitress and staff were really friendly and welcoming. I had a half rack of ribs. They were amazing! They melted in the mouth and had the perfect bark. Fries were fresh, crispy and delicious. Will definitely be going back if I’m ever in the area.

The bar b que was pretty good as far as flavor…smoky but my sandwich was dry..I used alot of sauce but I usually don’t use any. The sauce was excellent and we came home with a 4.00 bottle..bought a couple of fried pies….they looked great but was below par…really doughy…not alot of fruit…too bad! No one wore a mask…not in the kitchen or the servers…and the small dining room was packed with families…young and old…we felt uncomfortable and alittle concerned that they showed a disregard for their customers as well as each other…even if it is not mandatory in their area…that was my dislike more than anything…we had driven all the way from Nashville…so disappointed!!
