Let’s start by saying, you get what you pay for. This is one of the cheapest places to get a decent plate in Simpsonville. The portions are very healthy as well. The pork was a little dry. Clearly, my husband has a special love for hash. However, I didn’t care for the flavor of it. It’s a great place to grab a quick meal!

Our family always loves having lunch at Henry’s Smokehouse when were in Simpsonville! Their kids meals are basically adult sized portions, and the place is never uncomfortably busy (really big plus for me!). Our family can enjoy a reasonably priced meal, with large portions, and a clean and classic environment, surrounded by early rock and roll and Hollywood memorabilia. The kids especially love the Elvis photos, so we always sit in the same spot!

Everything today was a bit dry, overcooked and meat had spices but no salt to round out the flavor. Couldn’t eat the ribs. The hash/rice was ok. I would get that again over the rest..at least it was moist.

Have been going to this place for awhile but last week’s experience was enough. Ordered a half a rack of ribs and banana pudding. The pudding has always been “ok,” never great.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I am giving it a one because my husband said his pork sandwich was good. I got the smoked chicken plate. It was so tough I couldn’t even eat it. It had no smoke taste whatsoever. It seemed like it had been steamed possibly. I don’t know how you can make chicken that tough. The string beans were literally heated straight from a can and the potato salad was more mayo than potatoes. There were four people working all who were on their phones. The place was dirty and not one person was cleaning. I could see a dirty dish rag on the counter in the kitchen from my table. This was not at all what I expected from the reviews I had read. I am wondering if they were referring to one of the other locations. Maybe they are better. Save your money. There are too many other good BBQ joints in the area.

I found food gold. This was barbecue unlike that other place were I was wasted $45 dollars. Two plates together came out to $37 dollars. My wife and I got the three meat barbecue plate. We had chicken ribs and hash. Unlike other folks who didn’t even have chicken on the menu. We enjoyed dinner and everything was authentic down home cooking. I would highly recommend this restaurant….

I came in for the first time and was impressed with the food and portions. I got the hog pulled pork plate with slaw and fries. Let me tell ya that I felt like a hog after!! Sooo good. Next time I will try the sampler plater.
