Not sure how we never discovered Malibu in our 20+ years coming on summer vacation to MB {especially since we always stay on the beach in Garden City. RESERVATIONS A MUST. When arriving, wait in the skinny hall out front on the sidewalk. Only 56 seats. Just go with the process. Once inside, even if you have to wait another 20 minutes or so to place your drink order, just go with it and wait. You will be blessed. Hubby’s Veal parmesan best ever (considering he never orders anything else). I had zucchini and pancetta/white onion in cream cooking sauce over bowtie. Again… No words. They make bread from scratch every day. Tiramisu created with Bailey’s. Omg. I could eat there everyday during my MB vacation. I want to try everything.

I grew up in an Italian neighborhood with many good Italian restaurants. Malibu is our go to, hands down favorite in the South Strand. Family owned and run. Best day to go is Sunday for Mama’s Sunday sauce and / or lasagna. You most probably need a reservation.

Our first time here after hearing so many great things about Malibu! My parents and I made a quick decision to try it out and we got in surprisingly with no reservation. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful and our food came out so delicious. Coming from a family of chefs and being born and raised in New Jersey, this restaurant truly outdid themselves and now have new regulars. I got the chicken parm and it was just perfect. Giovanni, the owner, is such an amazing person and is very accommodating to all. Great conversations with him, making us feel very welcomed and comfortable. We are so happy we finally tried it!!! Beautiful. 100/10!!!

Arrived for a later dining experience for 5 people at 8:40pm. Hostess greeted us, although at an outside door, and left to check with someone. Hostess came back a few moments later and stated “kitchen said reservations only” and declined our hospitality. Restaurant was at about 50% capacity and our party was well within the hours stated on their website. Just an FYI if you plan to be around town and think of this place.

If you want a great atmosphere, friendly staff and amazing owner with authentic Italian cuisine; this is where you need to go. The owner personally took our order and made room for us even though we did not have a reservation and they were pretty booked. He was a well rounded, intellectual and interactive person through the whole experience. My husband loves Italian dishes but he did not know that this is what real Italian tastes like. We went on a whim and I am so glad we did. Looks like we will be making 4 hour drives just to dine here when we can. This is the best meal we have ever had. I really am at a loss for words to describe how much this little gem needs to be tried. I could go on in lengthy paragraphs about just the whole experience, food and staff in general. My husband had the surf and turf and cleared the plate. These are not small portions.
