Well, I have been trying to get to this place for a while now. The hours are a bit different but I was able to get there on a Saturday. We were greeted immediately and sat with some nice conversation. I had the 2 piece catfish plate with corn and macaroni. Everything was great, catfish breading was perfect and seasoned well. Corn was excellent and the macaroni was good but not as good as everything else. My wife got okra and fries as her sides, all great and the okra is a little darker but I think that it from the breading or seasoning. Give this place a shot, very good catfish . I ATE AT THE RESTAURANT, my food was not sitting and waiting to be picked up and then delivered.(yeah let fried food sit for 30-45 minutes and review it)

So… Mixed review but I’m still giving 5 stars. The catfish was amazing – batter was tasty, fish was cooked perfectly (no squishy fishy and no hard bits) and the pieces were a generous size. Can’t really say enough food things about their fish… Nailed it! We ordered two – two piece baskets. The first one had sweet corn and fries for a side. Sweet corn was fine… Idk watery kind of. Not what I’m used to but not bad. Just not my preferred way of cooking corn. The fries tho… No no no. Over cooked like really on the verge of being burned and they were cooked in dirty oil. Such a bummer after that amazing fish. None of us could eat the fries . The second basket we got with fried okra and green beans. The green beans were great! Reminds me of soul food from back home which just warms my heart and makes my mouth water! That’s exactly how I like my beans! The fried okra was ok. Would’ve been perfect if not for being cooked in that dirty oil. Huge bummer because that is my son’s and my favorite fried veggie. The oil pooling under the okra was a let down too… Overall I give the food 3 stars but easily could’ve been a 5 with clean oil. So why did I give them 5 stars?! From the moment we walked thru the door I could’ve swore I was at my uncle’s place! The guys there went out of their way to be warm and welcoming. Even stopped by the table and talked with my young son while he was stuffing green beans in his mouth. He told my son how it warmed his heart to see a little guy loving those veggies… Y’all my son thought he was Mr Cool after that and told his sisters all about that interaction The small complaints about the food pale next to the amazing service we got.

Finally took the recommendation to try this place and I’m so happy I did. It is run by a man who taught at my elementary school and he remembered me after all these years. The service was phenomenal and the food… It was everything. The fish was big and flaky. The sides were out of this world. Make the trip, it’s worth it.

We came by to try to place out. This ends up as a great choice. The place is small inside but delivers huge. The catfish was delicious and well cooked. It had a corn meal crunchy outside. That was fantastic. The meal came with two sides. I had the mac n cheese and fried okra. The Mac n cheese was fabulous, and the okra was very well cooked and tasted great. The staff was great. They were very professional and took care of us very well. I will definitely be back!!

If you like catfish, consider this place your prized secret. This was our first time and the catfish is no joke, some of the best! I tried a double meal thinking one fiilet wasn’t enough but these filets are way bigger than what I’ve had before. They were perfectly breaded, perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. My wife had a combination of sides and veggies. Great green beans, great fried okra (and I’m real picky about okra), great hush puppies, Mac and cheese was okay.

Catfish platter was excellent. Fish was flavorful and not battered to death like some other places. Cole slaw was good as was the tartar sauce. Fried okra was overcooked, but otherwise had a decent experience. Restaurant was clean. Air conditioning seemed like it wasn’t working all that well, though it was very hot out that day. Give them a try.

The atmosphere was bluesy ,the entire staff went out of there way to accommodate the customers , my filet was unmatched I left full . I ordered chicken tenders and added a fillet. It’s small and personal the hours were different, I been trying to get there for some time, I will definitely be eating there allot.

I rarely leave reviews but this place is worthy! It’s a lil place with big flavor. The food is really fantastic but the atmosphere is dull. It’s in a shopping center off 820 not too far from Locked Martin but it feels like your in a Library. The surroundings leave little to be desired but the food is great! The family is from LA and it is clear they put their heart in to it! Fresh taste, great seasoning and pretty much average price for seafood. I give it 4 out of 5 stars and will go back! Check hours of operation cause they are different than most eateries.

So this was my first time coming to this establishment. First impressions is key with me. The grease def. Need to be changed at this facility. My fish was draining dark grease and my Okra was so dark you can tell it was old grease and taste. My whole fish, loved the crispy outing but the old grease taste was over powering. On the filet fish plate. It looks good haven’t tried it yet but the fries was soggy and I requested extra crispy. I also ordered 2 sweet potatoes pies. Haven’t taste them yet but they could’ve been ran through the oven a little longer. I can finish them though. The fried stuff was just demolished from the old grease. The Mac and cheese have some type of over powering herb that do not need to be added. It would’ve been good without it. Hushpuppies went to the trash they were over cooked. I had great hopes for this restaurant. I’m disappointed. I have a 2 for the crispy skin on the fish even though you can’t eat from the grease taste
