There is few restaurant made me recall from time to time, this is the one. Been there in October 2021, ordered 4 appetizers and all of them are good surprise. I remembered all of them to today: Calamari, Poutine, beef foundue, Thai wraps. Big portion, great taste with fusion style, both of us savored them. The next day we went to a fancier one but it’s not as good. If I ever go to Akron Ohio again, I will surely go back to this “Merchant Tavern” again.

Came in the Sunday before Memorial Day. Have always wanted to try this place out but I normally steer away from busy places because of long wait times for food to come or poor service from an overwhelmed staff. But we pulled in, saw a parking spot in right in front. (It was a sign!) Walked in expecting a wait time- especially when they asked for my name. We were seated right away. Christyna was our server and…Sis, she was seriously on point. The food was pretty good and came in a timely manner. But the Thai chicken wings just tasted like peanut butter on wings and our fries for our burgers were soggy. But because of her, we had a great experience- she was very attentive and efficient. We’ll definitely come back and ask to be seated in her section.

OMG THE POUTINE! A must have, either as a starter or to accompany another entree. We split the steak and subbed in veggies and extra mushrooms. Cucumber gin drink and an adorable draft beer. For dessert – angel food cake to die for.

Good service, nice atmosphere, and excellent food. The only downside is that it’s a little pricey. First time in a long time that I’ve gone out for a steak and didn’t have to send it back. As I said, excellent food. They don’t have a kids menu but they actually accommodated my sons bu making an off-menu grilled cheese. Honestly, I stole a bite. Never had a better grilled cheese sandwich lol. Everything, from the appetizers to the main course, was cooked to perfection. Will definitely return.

The food sounds good in theory, but nothing was great. The steak sandwich was very chewy, the hot chicken sandwich was more breading & sauce than chicken. The soup of the day was good, the fries were good. The Gouda grits were meh Probably won’t be back.
