We visited Punjabi Dhaba today and I am so glad we did. I usually go to usha foods in queens and I always thought they had good food but I have to tell you punjabi Dhabi crosses them in so many categories including one that usha foods doesn’t attempt it that is hospitality. They made my day by giving us a complimentary salt lassi in steel traditional jug and glasses.

A good Punjabi eatery with authentic tasting dishes.Tried here a few times and all the dishes taste good.The regular thali is a simple affair but reminds you of a home cooked meal served warm with love and affection.I have tried a few of their curries and most taste like a typical dhaba style made with loads of good ghee and traditional veggies.The Mango Lassi is by far the best I have tried in Hicksville.Tastes awesome and my kid loves them.A great gem of a place for vegetarians and I look forward to trying their Punjabi thali which has much rave reviews.Tried their Special Punjabi Thaali.The dishes were great but the service was too slow with just one server to serve you!

I came to pick up my food after 2 hours. No one behind counter helped me and I waited 10 minutes. They don’t recall my order. I wait another half hour. They forgot my dessert and that was another 10 minute wait. You’re normally compensated when you wait this long when it should have been ready, right? They had the nerve to ask me to pay them when I showed the receipt 5 times over that hour. The woman working didn’t even know they had a website to order from. What?? I’m not normally one to complain, but this was abysmal service; probably the worst I’ve ever seen. Nothing was done to make it right and they had some nerve arguing with me about paying them twice. Stay away!

I visited Punjabi dhaba for the very first time today on my friend’s recommendation. We have ordered our food while eating there was a big stone came out from chole. My husband was the one who got it in his bite. I showed it to the owner. He took that and went into the kitchen but surprisingly he did not came to the our table for apology or anything. He did not say a single word about it. It made all of us upset that he did not care about his customers. After this incident I won’t think I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

The food at this establishment is delicious. It’s a hole in the wall place, but I highly recommend it. They have a few tables so that you can dine in. They have an ample amount of sweets. Would definitely come back. Prices are unbelievable.
