I usually don’t rate 5 stars unless something really stood out. I did so today because I just had a humbling experience I’d like to share. It’s about 2 o’clock and I walked in while the staff was having lunch. Fast forward… I watched as one of the kitchen workers was leaving. She and the other staff members seemed to have a bit of a language barier, yet she was greeted by everyone so genuinely that it made me want to work there. I also realize that I, too, was treated like they wanted me there, not only as a one and done customer. The food was not a 5, but still one of the best Korean food I’ve had.

I’ve had multiple circles of international friends all independently locate and tout this restaurant’s quality and authenticity. I’ve been a repeat customer for decades. I am recognized at the door, greeted with a giant smile, and treated like an esteemed guest. My only gripe is the recent addition of fees for to-go containers. I’m a weekly customer and always tip 20%, just give me a styrofoam container without making me feel nickel-and-dimed.

I had a wonderful experience at ChoDang Tofu Restaurant. The scallion pancakes were a delightful appetizer that left me wanting more. For my main course, I opted for the lunch special, which included BBQ ribs paired with refreshing cold noodles (bibim naengmyeon). It turned out to be a fantastic choice! The ribs were tender and flavorful, and the combination with the cold noodles was simply delicious. I can’t wait to visit this restaurant again in the future.

I got the kalbi and cold noodle combo and it was delicious!!! My mom order the seafood tofu stew and liked it a lot! Our server was very nice and the owner was walking around and checking in with each table! I will be coming back very soon

I visited this restaurant with my family and had a great experience. We got the cold noodles, kalbi, and spicy tofu soup. The broth was so rich and delicious. The kalbi was seasoned perfectly and even the side dishes were so good. The food not only tasted great, but was made with healthy choices and ingredients. We will be back again!
