Gilded Unicorn is a true gem right in the heart of downtown Spokane. The restaurant’s atmosphere is reminiscent of a Kubrick film and while dining you easily could imagine the space used as a secret society meeting place in the 1930’s. On a 95 degree summer day it felt very nice walking down into the cool cave like walls of Gilded. The happy hour prices lend themselves to trying the whole food menu, and the happy hour cocktail is always innovative and prepared with excellence. I have never had a bad dish here or drink. The tap beer and can list is small but might filled with lots of locally brewed beers like my go to Brick-west Pilsner. The perfectly brewed brick-west Pilsner is an excellent match for the smothered tot casserole and the truffle popcorn.

Yum! Had cider, chili, and dessert at the bar. Perfect for a guy passing through town like me. Nice vibe. Recommend if you want to take a date to a slightly whimsical, non-rowdy pub. I’ll be back next time I’m in town, this time with family in tow!

This place was excellent! Service was great, the atmosphere was really cool, and the food was out of this world. We had the deviled eggs, pork chop, and BBQ platter. All were fantastic. Will definitely be going back!

Awesome basement bar and restaurant. We tried a bit of everything that sounded good to us. The deviled eggs are very good, the devils on horseback were exceptional, and the lumpia egg rolls were also very very good. Both sauces were excellent. I had a gilded unicorn martini and it was a new recipe version. Tasted like Homer simpsons donut but alcoholic. All of our 4 drinks were very good. Meatloaf was a miss for us though, too dry and the sauce wasn’t the best for us.

We made reservations, but made it earlier than expected. (Thanks Google Maps!) They were so accommodating and were able to seat us so quickly. The food was so delicious! Our 13 year old was surprised by the art! LoL Great experience!

We had a great first visit to this unique and interesting restaurant! We were a group of 9 people and they were able to accommodate all of us comfortably. Our server was great at keeping everything straight and was helpful with recommendations when asked. The drinks were unique and exquisite…we ordered the Forget Me Not, which was really flavorful and delightful with Gin, cucumber, pink vermouth and orange peel. I ordered the truffle and reggiano popcorn, which was quite tasty. Other people on our party ordered the Restaurant Week menu, I tasted the Bocce Rolls, which were fluffy, warm, cheesy and garlicky, and the Mushroom Stroganoff with brisket which had a really well balanced flavor and was a delicious meal! For dessert, we ordered the coconut cream pie (really great flavors with surprising crunch coconut bits) and the maple donuts (soft and doughy and served with a delicious maple sauce and confectioners sugar). We really enjoyed the whole meal and the delightful atmosphere!

I’ve walked by this spot quite a bit and finally decided to give it a go. The underground vibe was in full swing and the space was definitely cool. After debating for a while I went for the Pan Roasted Pork Chop which was a great choice. They had a porter from Icicle Brewing out of Leavenworth, WA that was fantastic. My only gripe with the place, which is a weird one admittedly, is that the acoustic property of our booth seemed to cancel out my voice. An odd gripe, but it made it weird to talk during dinner. Overall, great food, great location, and great drinks! Definitely worth a visit!

Was recommended to go to this place by a bartender at another establishment. PERFECT SUGGESTION! Awesome atmosphere in the basement of a hotel built in 1889. Really good food… I had the cheeseburger, fries, Ceasar salad and the Hearth Porter Brownie. Jerry recommended the Brownie and it couldn’t have been better. Thanks Jerry! Don’t miss this place!

We made an early dinner reservation online, quick, easy. We sat down before the dinner rush hit. The atmosphere was perfect, staff were all very pleasant. It is our 13 yr anniversary and we chose to stay at our favorite hotel, The Montvale,, and we get quick easy access inside the building to the guided unicorn, in the same building. The drinks are unique and fun, the food has a fun spin on the norm. Music and lighting are relaxing. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 stars all the way!!
