Food was good, recommended the place if you are in comanche. Tortillas are homemade that was a super plus. The staff is kinda friendly but I guess it was to early so I understand. It is just 2 of then so be patient but the food was worth it. Love the chorizo and egg it was great. Would go back.

We ran out to Comanche, Texas, today to go to a local winery. Near the winery is a wonderful little Mexican food place. These guys make real authentic Mexican food, not like the watered-down Tex-Mex stuff you find all over Texas. Los Juan’s does it right. I ordered the Barbacoa. If you don’t know what barbacoa is, it is cow head. The entire cow head is cooked in a pot with tongue and all. It was absolutely delicious! The meat was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The owner makes it a few times a week. He will also smake brisket on the weekend. I’m looking forward to that. I love small family operated places. My mom and wife also enjoyed their food. They had tacos and chilerelleno. However, I feel that they could work on the interior of the restaurant. It’s a little bit too eclectic. Overall, this is a great place where the owner loves what he does.

Excellent BBQ, I had the brisket and sausage, everything was very good. I’m very picky when it comes to BBQ because almost everyone in Texas is an expert BBQ smoker and everyone is better than the other person…but since I didn’t have to smoke the brisket to perfection, Los Juanes did and I recommend this restaurant to all the picky BBQ experts to give this place a try.

Look past the appearance to find an awesome small family run restaurant. The food was very authentic and some of the best Mexican food we have ever had. We ordered the street tacos with barbacoa and carne guidasa. Both meals were delicious! The tortillas were handmade and tasted as though the corn had been ground by hand. You know it is good food when we enthusiastically devoured even every bite of the sides of rice and beans. Will absolutely stop again when driving through town! The owner spoke to us as we left and he obviously takes great pride in the food they serve and deservedly so.

Los Juanes is located on Austin Street just a few blocks south of the square. The BBQ brisket is tasty but the chips and guacamole both tasted old. The waitress Kesha made us laugh while we waited for our order.
