Bayley’s is a true Mobile area icon. The origin of both fried crab claws and West Indies Salad. If you have never been on Wednesday night for the all you can eat fried mullet, cheese grits, cole slaw and fresh sliced tomatoes, then you are missing out on an amazing meal and a great Mobile tradition.

Very disappointed in this take-out on December 14, 2019. $60.00 for two take outs that were missing crab claws and French fries, food tasted awful and not fit for consumption. We dined inside there a few weeks ago and the food was fabulous and plentiful.

Bayley’s is a “Diamond in the Rough.” A little hole in the wall that doesnt look like much but for any locals, a great place to eat. If you’re traveling to Dauphin Island or are in the area, I highly recommend stopping and giving it a try. A seafood place, where everyone in my party devoured the seafood plates and the stuffed shrimp. From the crab claws, oysters, fish, shrimp, fries, onion rings, and hush puppies, no one was disappointed. The batter is light and doesnt take away from any of the fried food and everything I had was excellent. The stuffed shrimp are HUGE and unless you’re a big eater, you might want to find a buddy to split. You get five shrimp but they are almost the size of a freaking baseball with crab meat and onions. The place is usually pretty quite, but they can host big parties of people. The staff are very nice and the decor features a lot of cool antique things. Highly recommend giving it a look! My family of 3 (two big folks) split a seafood platter and stuffed shrimp and we were all STUFFED. Their lunch specials are great, come give them a look!

What a great place! From Karen our waitress who opened the door for my elderly mother to her wonderful service at the table and the very tasty food everything was wonderful. I had the fried shrimp which was perfect and not overly oily or fried. My brother had the shrimp etoufee which was really great and had a good kick and my dad loved the oysters. And he is very picky about his oysters! Everything was fantastic and complemented the warm friendly and very gracious hospitality of everyone there! Thank you very much

This is THE place to eat seafood in this area!!!! Don’t let their fancy menu fool you – this is a laid back local spot, with all freshly caught local seafood. When they run out of a fish, that’s it, so come early! My whole fried flounder was probably the best I have ever had. My daughter’s boiled shrimp was excellent. The hush puppies were “proper” Southern hush puppies – simply scrumptious! Their coke slaw is a unique and delicious recipe, as is their Key Lime Pie.

Wow!!! Another great visit and wonderful supper at Bayley’s. Where do I start – crab claws, onion rings, shrimp, oysters, etc. If living in Mobile County would reccomend Bayley’s every time. Do forget the West Indies Salad and whole fried flounder as options. Also what wonderful servers they have there too.

The West Indies Salad is out of the world! Everything else I’ve had there is good too. The interior is friendly and homey. The staff is pleasant as well. Definitely worth the trip!
