So I had posted a review of the Boss on Hondo Pass recently. I actually had given it five stars. Today I came in with a coupon for a free Jr. Boss combo that is given to area teachers periodically. The last time I was here I added two tenders (.99 each) no issues, the manager rang me up and I enjoyed my meal. Today, an employee named “Angelique” took my order and again I was getting the same coupon meal (they gave us another one at work) and when I wanted to add two tenders she wanted to charge me full price for two extra tenders yet last time it was only $.99 for each extra tender. Not to mention the front window has signs that say “Add a tender for .99 to any combo.” Isn’t that misleading? I think so. I even told her that manager last time had only charged me .99 for each extra tender but she ignored what I said and proceeded to want to ring up the full price for those. I won’t be back after this experience. This is bad service especially when you change things up to suit you.

Ordered 4 tenders and they taste good just way too small at 1.99 each. I would say you need about at least 8 to 10 tenders to get full if your a hungry adult. Definitely need to be more consistent on the size of your tenders. Last time I came they were a bit bigger.

1st time ever. Chicken is moist and the spicy one has a good seasoning the lemon pepper and original is good too. Fries with cheese is a must. The custard is delicious, not too sweet but instead very subtle so it goes well with toppings.. Overall I will be going here rather than Cane’s for a while.

I was very upset with the way customer service is at this location. The guy at the drive thru ripped my debit card out of my hand. I was not rude or being annoying so no need for that. So he doesn’t give me my drinks. Another girl gives me my order and I ask her where my drinks were and she was super rude about it. So five mins pass and a girl starting her shift asked me what my drinks were again. And she finally gave them to me. It was such a bad experience that me and my husband will not longer return. The food was good except the queso was clumpy and oily. The chili beans super salty couldn’t eat it. We did enjoy the tenders and fries but the overall experience of how we were treated has definitely made me never want to go back. Horrible service. If you don’t like your job no one has you working there. Seriously appalling behavior.

First time going to a Boss Chicken. Got the El Jeffe. Chicken strips were pretty good but the chili cheese dog and fries were not very good. Thought the Boss sauce would be similar to Cane sauce but it wasn’t. I love Cane sauce but would rather eat dry chicken than that Boss sauce again. Restaurant was clean though.

I had El Jefe which was 2 tenders and a chili cheese dog. All of it was excellent! And the custard for dessert completed the meal. Highly recommend this spot!

Overall the food was okay. I ordered the Jr. Boss combo with a sweet tea. The sweet tea was the best tea I’ve had in a long time! The tenders were good and hot. The signature sauce and honey mustard are great dipping sauces. I’m not crazy about the fries that was my only dislike..

Came in with a coupon for a free small custard and the older gentleman at the drive through said the coupon is only valid for a mini custard even though the coupon literally says “Small free custard” not mini custard. When I questioned him about it he said yeah no it’s for a mini not small…..next time I’ll just have to ask for a manager.

At first me and my mother were hesitant to try it out. Some local restaurants sometimes don’t have fresh food. Glad Boss isn’t one of them. My mother had The Boss 4 chicken Tenders, Texas toast, and a lot of fries with Honey Mustard and Mango Habenero dipping sauce. She loved the Mango Habenero sauce. I had the El Jefe two tenders, a chilli dog, plus fries. Yes plus drinks. I had the Coconut Tea a little sweet but watered down with ice. Just nice. The tenders are fresh and not too crunchy. My chilli dog was pretty tasty. Needed onions in my opinion. The fries good albeit a bit salty. I look forward to coming back again. Good size meals, good quality.
