At our Trussville, AL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

This place has really gone down hill, the floor was slippery (someone is going to fall) there was no ice in the drink machine, I asked one of the guy’s if they had to fill it up, he said yes, I said well it is out. So we drank our drink with no ice. He never put ice in machine, although he did ask if our meal was good, and it was hot, but a bit hard to choke down with no ice

Nothing but Pure Rudeness First The Female at the window charged us twice for the same item she said they were out of Jalapeño Poppers, Gumbo and Lemonade and we didn’t even ask for it in a horrible disrespectful tone. She also said they were out of Cocktail Sauce and they put some in our bag She always didn’t fill my fiancee cup all the way with Diet Pepsi and she ask the lady if she could fill up her cup and the female at the window was really rude to her. Drove up to order and person taking order was hard to understand, got to window and had to wait along with 2 cars in front of me, no cars behind me, and maybe 3-4 cars in parking lot for people dining in. I had a couple questions regarding the meals I ordered and the person gave me clipped answers. I also had asked for lemon and was told they did not have any. What kind of fish restaurant is not prepared to have lemon? After all that, I get home and it was someone else’s order!!! Needless to say, I was very disappointed with my experience, the service offered and overall interaction with the staff.

The cashier was sweet and polite but the food was horrible! I really should have paid attention to the 3 star rating they have and not wasted my money tbh. I got the fish sandwich combo and the bread was extremely tough and had very hard stale spots everywhere, the fries were cold and tasted like old grease and burnt. I’ll never go back to that Captain D’s in Trussville ever again and I would not recommend anyone else going there.

The food was good. The Manager, Gregory, was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and VERY RUDE. His pants were literally down around his knees with his complete backside and underwear showing. He was attire was disgusting, especially since he is a manager. Employees outside in back smoking Marijuana. Won’t be going back there.
