Here at Mr. crab we thought that we could bring something that campus town hasn’t seen before. With our unique style and flavor we wanted to bring something new to the forefront. Mr. Crab is a modern Cajun Seafood boil restaurant, where the only thing that you need to bring is your hands and an appetite as well as many different dishes and seasoning options. We have been making seafood for years and finally thought that we should share with the world starting here in Champaign. This is now my son’s favorite restaurant (which makes my wallet cringe) but it is very good, so I do not blame him. We’ve been twice now, and have gotten crab both times. I had a side of sausage and that was good, too. I didn’t realize the sausage came sauced, but I just pushed the sauce off and gobbled it up. We are used to the low country boils from the southeast coast of the country so having a thick sauced “boil” was new for us. Though different, it was still very good. I have not tried all of the flavors, but had the Cajun last time and I even sopped up the extra with my fries, it was so good. The personnel have been very friendly from what we have experienced. Going forward, this is a regular stop whenever we can spring for market value seafood.

Absolutely outstanding. Super surprised at Mr. Crab’s diversity. They are famous for Chinese, Chinese American and Cajun. Sheli doesn’t like spicey food and can’t eat onions or peppers. I like it all. Mr. Crab satisfied both of our needs. I had Cajun shrimp, king crab leg with corn on the cob & a potato all steamed together in a tremendous Cajun sauce (3 of 4 peppers heat rating). Sheli had steamed shrimp and bay scallops with corn and a potato in a mild garlic butter sauce.

We’re not open at the correct time. Got sat at a table that was dirty asked to be moved so they loved us to another table and it was dirty as well. Tried a third table and my chair had something spilled on it. Building was disgusting. If the dining area is that dirty as someone who has worked in the food service industry for more than 26 years it terrifies me as to how dirty the kitchen is if the dining area is that unclean. Would never recommend anyone to go there!

Highly recommend this place! The food was absolutely delicious. I had the garlic butter shrimp boil and was extremely satisfied. The service was excellent. The owner personally waited on us and made our very large party feel important. We were throwing a birthday party for a family member and we couldn’t have left happier. Thank you for a great night!

Been going here for quite some time, usually get the hot pot thing. It has great variety. This place is by far my favorite Chinese place in town, the food is good. The only issue sometimes it’s hard to communicate with new staffing.

Poor customer service, order was wrong, and was trying to make me pay additional if I wanted to keep what they originally sent. I gladly handed them the incorrect order. I do not eat pork in I indicated that in the notes. They claimed it was beef. Either way I stated NO SAUSAGE! They also did not have my pound of mussels in the bag. Spent over 50 dollars not one apology for the inconvenience! The driver tried to negotiate for me to pay ten more dollars for something I never wanted in the first place. He was not concerned that he had to come twice, because of there mistake. I will take my business elsewhere. NEVER AGAIN

Took forever to be seated when the restaurant was nearly empty. Took forever to get the food. The snow crab was given to me in a huge plastic bag?? It was like a strange soup with crab floating in it in a plastic bag. I had to fold the bag underneath itself in order to get to the food?? So strange! The crab was so gross!
