After lots of searching we found our FAVORITE wings! Crispy outside, tender inside is a must for us and that’s exactly what these wings are! We ordered the Buffalo Hot, Garlic parm and tater tots. I have to add, we went for the wings and stayed because of the amazing atmosphere. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. We met the owner Joey and totally fell in love with The Wooden Nickel. The love and dedication he has to this place made us love it even more. We’re new to the area and I think we just found our favorite dive bar and wing spot! We were told the burgers and fish tacos are great as well. Will be trying those next!

The service is pretty decent for a bar, the general vibe of the place is very laid back and the wings! Oh the wings! Had them once and they had me thinking about those things all week! No other wings can compare. Must try, even if that’s the only reason why you go to the wooden nickel.

The food is great for bar food. Could be better but did like the mango habanero wings! Great prices in those on Wednesdays I believe. The service is great. Cool bar with pool tables, music, and drinks. I give it 4.5 stars! If you like country, this is a good spot for weekends.

One of the best bars in Tucson!! Awesome bartenders and a chef that knows how to make a great meal!! It may be bar food but they don’t mess around when it comes to great bar food!!! The wings are exceptional and the burger will make you want 2!!! Great atmosphere and pretty decent prices on the drinks and food! Definitely a place to hit up for a cold drink and a good meal!

Bring an appetite! I was on an out of town trip, supporting our Tucson location. One of my coworkers suggested this place because they’re known for their wings. I bought the 8 piece wings and an order of loaded tots. Man! These wings are cut off some big ol yard bird. Extremely crispy skin (which is a must) and the habenero mango sauce is perfectly sweet and spicy. Now onto these tots. Also very crispy (possibly double fried) plenty of nacho cheese, green onion, bacon pieces and sour cream. Let me tell you, the average couple could order this and leave comfortably full. For a single diner such as myself, it was a bit too much food. All said and done, with a drink included, my tab came to $19.50, which is pretty standard for eating just about anywhere these days. So if you’re in the neighborhood, don’t pass this place up!
