OMG!!!! Yes…. This place is the truth!! I ordered here for the first time and I’ll say this…. The food is . So delicious, so filling!! The portions were huge. I ordered the Birria Tacos they were thick and so good, the Esquites (salty, spicy cheesy yum) and I also had the Tres Leches, so good! The staff was awesome, they were very welcoming. The place is small but super cozy. Next time I’ll have to have my food there instead of to-go. I will definitely be back for more.

Edit 4/30 – I went back for another visit but this time the Wet Burrito, Piccadillo and chorizo. Total with tip was just over $20 so I wouldn’t say it’s the lowest price place. The burrito was really good. A bit more beans and rice than I would have liked but it a lower cost way of giving you more food. I would consider this Mexican comfort food. The bacon was an interesting add but I would ditch that for more fresh avocado and tomato inside but that is just my opinion. I would like to get a wet burrito Christmas style, that is where on end is a red sauce and the other is green so you can try both. I would still go back and plan to try the torta. Original Review- So I saw this place open yesterday and stopped today for Birria Tacos. It took the place that use to be the local pizza/calzone shop. I have to admit while the pizza was good I was glad to see I real Mexican Taco shop takes its place. I have reviewed a number of Mexican is St Louis Park and Golden Valley and this is definitely one of the best. Their food isn’t Chipotle type Mexican, it’s much more like what I grew up with in Los Angeles. Today I had the Barria Tacos and I will go back on Tuesday to try something else. This place is going to be very busy this summer after everyone finds it. Great addition to the neighborhood with the best Mexican flavors and ingredients. Excellent execution “Taco Shop” one of their burritos are up next!

I ordered 2 chicken and 2 steak street tacos, and elote via Delivery app. The food was amazing! The steak tacos were my favorite. The tacos were not soggy or soft, and the steak was tender. I wish the elote corn was a little sweeter but it was still delicious. This is my new favorite taco spot.

This place is an absolute gem. From the food to the service, everything was spectacular (11/10). I had the birria tacos, chips and guac and the hibiscus drink. Chips and guac was definitely shareable and delicious and I also loved the birria tacos. The space has a really nice vibe and I just really enjoyed everything about dining here. This place is a must go!

Right when you walk through the door you know you are in for a amazing meal. The environment is fun and authentic. I ordered the pastor wet burrito. It was huge! But more impressive was the level of flavor. The meat was cooked perfectly. Was even a beautiful dish when it arrived to the table. If you enjoy Mexican food the Taco Shop is a must try
