No longer 5 stars. We finally got a chance to try the reopened Pappys. The pizza was not very good. It used to be among the best in Manchester. It isn’t even close now. The taste of salt in the steak and cheese sub was overpowering. The onion rings were good, but for $5.95 there should have been a few more. Even for a small. The pizza and sub were fairly priced. The employees that I encountered were friendly, but did not have the same enthusiastic demeanor that the old employees did.

I absolutely love their Caesar salad with the added treat of a garlic “knot!” The service is very friendly, fast and attentive. The restaurant is shiny clean, too. Looks like a lot of delicious food on the menu, but I can’t tear myself away from the Caesar salad yet!

We have been to Pappy’s three times since the reopening. First two times we dined in and enjoyed the bright clean make over and friendly service as well as the food and their special pitcher cocktail for two. Wicked good!! During the soft opening we understood the few small issues they ran into such as too salty steak and over done chicken tenders. The second time we had the chicken tenders, they were awesome! Tonight we ordered the new 20inch yummolicious pizza to go and picked it up ourselves to avoid the delivery charge. This pizza is massive and delicious! The outer crust was not heavy with just bread, the topping went right up to the edge. It was ready in exactly the time they said it would be, just 30 minutes. We are reading a bunch of negative reviews and are scratching our heads because we have had nothing but positive experiences with Pappy’s. So we wanted to be sure to take the time to say thank you and we like you and are grateful to have you on our neighborhood. Smiles, Tina & Daren

I can’t understand why anyone would take over a busy, much loved sub shop and change everything. The great steak tips and cheese sub did not survive the change. The recipe is different, and not good, portions are much smaller and the prices are way up. Restaurants have had a tough time, but this change is not about inflation. It’s about an inability to recognize a good thing.

Went with wife. Always had a good experience in the past. Both got grilled cheese sandwiches. Both sandwiches were cold and my wife’s was missing the pickle. And the worst part was we paid close to $30. Apparently this business was just bought by someone else who is not providing the same great food we were receiving from the previous owners. Won’t be going back.

Definitely nothing like the original Pappy’s. Quality of the product Definitely cheaper. Chewy steak cheese on pizza sub par. We always took Pappy’s to go back to Vt. With us usually 4-6 and 4 pizza’s. Not happening this trip. Thank god for Bob Nadeau’s

I stopped at Pappy’s one night after work and it is absolutely delicious! I’m in the area for 10 days training chefs at a local college and I wish I could order from them more, but Albany N.Y. is a bit far. Try them. You wouldn’t regret it.

My husband and I went in for lunch. We ordered a cheeseburger club and a ham and cheese club. We were told by the waitress that fries came with the clubs. When the bill came we were charged an additional 4.95 per sandwich for French fries. When we asked the waitress about it she said “I don’t know why that happened” took the credit card and charged us for the 4.95 x 2 for the fries. The cost for 2 club sandwiches with French fries totaled $30.12. We will never be back. Sure miss the old Pappys.
