Ordered carryout on line. This was easy and straight forward. We enjoyed all that we got– chopped bbq, smoked wings, okra, collards, mac and cheese. The only item that was lacking, was cream of crab soup. It was okay, but could be improved. Staff was friendly. Order was packaged with care. Order was accurate. We will be back.

We both enjoyed the daily special which included generous portions of chicken and pork BBQ and two sides. The BBQ was sufficiently smokey flavored and tasty. Joe’s offeres several sauces to meet personal taste. Between the two of us we tried the fried ocra, fries, greens and cold slaw and all were very good. The meal also included hush puppies and I wanted more they were so good!

Food and service was good. IMHO I paid more than I should’ve for what I got. If they add some Texas toast and more than 3 hushpuppies to the 1/2 rack rib combo I’d feel better about the price. AC wasn’t working well enough to suit me and chairs need more padding.

So….they close at 8pm. We show up at 725pm and are told that we can’t eat inside because they are closing in a half an hour. Lost my business forever and will pass on the word that they don’t cater to customers. Ridiculous! Northern Neck Burger across the street was happy to take my money and the food and service is 100% better!

I wouldn’t even rate this place a one star. I barely go to Savannah’s Joes because the last time I ate dinner the pork was really dry. I wanted to try it again because sometimes things happened, well me and my family went back and our waiter came and took our order and told us that he was leaving and Ashley would take care of us. Upon talking with my family we all said “don’t you think it’s taking long for our food?” I looked at the clock and it was already 1hr since we ordered so we went up to the front were Ashley was there and asked what’s taking so long that we been here for 1hr. Ashley response was “I am sorry I thought it was a take out order I have all your food here I’ll make you fresh French fries. She unwrapped all of our burgers and served us the cold burgers with hard bread and cold cheese that has been sitting there for over 1 hr at this point. Even though she said she was sorry about the situation she didn’t seem apologetic and was very unprofessional with dealing with this matter and she is the Manager. I had my daughter which was six months waiting and she had to hear all of us talking. After eating our cold burgers and checking out she didn’t even attempt to try to correct the problem with being professional. I wouldn’t even take my dog back to that small unsanitary place. And if Ashley is reading this please try not to act like your working in a lawyers office, because sweetie it’s a restaurant and I wouldn’t even call it that. You should work on your interpersonal communication skills, and professionalism with dealing with customers. It wasn’t our fault and you seem to act like you didn’t want to take responsibility of your messed up!

Great atmosphere and even better bbq! They close at 8 and we didn’t make it here until 7:35 on Memorial Day, but Darwin behind the counter was more than happy to help us! We will definitely be returning.

Not sure what happens to this place. They used to have good food and great service. Stopped by one day for lunch and sat in the dining room for 20 mins without any sight of a server or anything. I left without even giving them a chance. The bathrooms are outside on the side of the building but still fairly clean.

Very rude and unprofessional employees – acted like they were doing us a favor and were put out when we asked questions. Place did not appear to be clean – door knobs had grime on them, menus had smudges and food residue, bathrooms were ugh.
