This little shop is tiny but packs a huge punch! I got a bento box and it was delicious!! My partner got 3 sushi rolls which were so quick to get out to us!! I also ordered an appetizer of vegggie/shrimp tempura which was great! We started with ginger salads and my partner got yum yum sauce on his instead they did it with no issue!

We had a great dining experience here. The server was so nice and helpful with helping us decide our order. The yellowtail collar was delicious and all our food came out super fast. We were impressed with the presentation of the sweetheart roll! If we are ever back in Clearwater then we will definitely come back here.

I am not at all from the area and was just looking for a Japanese restaurant to go to since I don’t leave close to one. I used to live in Paris’s Chinatown though, so let’s say I was pretty spoiled for many years. I am so happy I found Umai Café! Everything I ordered was very, very delicious. The sushis were perfect, the gyozas crispy and tender, and I was so happy so see things on the menu like steamed adamame beans, or charded shishito peppers. Finally the green tea frozen mochi was the perfect dessert. The staff was very nice and efficient. Highly recommend!!

Service is rushed and not personable. They either rush you or neglect you by standing on their phones in the back. While you wait there with an empty water and empty plate for her to notice you in the shoe box sized room…they make you feel like when you ask for anything extra that you are a burden. I’m a server as well so I don’t appreciate that. The sushi fell apart the first bite, tempura roll wasn’t even warm. (Thought that was fried?) maybe hours before…

So first off everything we ordered was great. Not from the area. Was on Google searching for a close seafood joint and stumbled across this little gem. Glad we decided to nix the seafood and try this place(although they do have seafood). Shrimp dumplings were slamming. Umai salad was also slamming. We got the ramen with pork, it was delicious and the noodles were perfect. Got the BBQ squid it was pretty good also. And then came the sushi. We got the volcano, mega lobster, and California rolls. All very delicious. I’d recommend giving this place to anyone who loves Asian cuisine. Hoping I make it over this way soon again so I can visit again and try more from the menu. Or maybe I’ll just make a special trip to eat here again. Would be worth it. Thanks you guys for a great dining experience.

I just picked up my to go order. Sushi tastes great but it is SO frustrating to get home and they do not include soy sauce/ yum yum sauce in the bag. Normally I am totally fine with just soy sauce. Shame on me I assumed soy sauce was in the bag but it wasn’t this should come standard in a togo order. So I am eating dry sushi which is a bummer. Please make it a standard process to include soy sauce in your to go sushi orders!
