Popped in for late lunch. Right away noticed how clean & fresh everything is, from the front to the server area, and even the restroom(s). Since I was cutting it close before afternoon closing (2:30), I had called ahead and my order was ready for dine-in. Simple for me today: lunch special, 3 rolls (California, tuna & salmon). Simple turned out to be SPECIAL–because everything was so delicious, so perfect in it’s own little way. The fish itself was very fresh and just the right temperature. But it doesn’t end there. My Japan-born & raised wife always says that no matter how good the fish is, if the rice isn’t right… And that’s so true here: each bite so delicious, full of flavor & texture❣ And not to be overlooked: the miso soup–subtle, wonderful, fulfilling. My tummy is very happy today. I’ll be back!

Of all the sushi restaurants in the DMV, Sushi-Zen is my favorite. The sushi is always delicious, there is a good variety of chef choices, and I find the kid options to be sufficient. While I’ve only dined inside once, take-out is easy and quick. I have done delivery a few times and for that you do need to give yourself extra time.

food was absolutely amazing. the store was PACKED with customers, barely any seats were open, and we got our food rather quickly, which was surprising due to the amount of people in the restaurant. the waiters were all the sweetest humans on the planet, doing their work great and efficiently. it’s very clean and they clearly take their job seriously. they take their time to converse with customers when the time is right and are overall very patient and amazing workers, allowing customers to be comfortable. food was served fresh and delicious, with very fair prices and perhaps even low, considering their food was made well. if you want sushi in arlington, COME HERE! compliment the waiters and chefs because they absolutely deserve it.

Sushi here is great! Everything was very fresh. The chicken katsu is also delicious, though a little pricey. Service was good as well, our waters were always full. I’d go back for dine in or takeout for sure.

We were so disappointed that we won’t return. We started going to Sushi Zen several years ago when our favorite waitress began to work there. The food was generous and fresh and the service, the best! It merited five stars, in my opinion. On a recent visit, I ordered an Alligator Roll, which used to be delicious. This time, there was no taste of eel and the pieces were tiny. The eel sauce recipe changed and wasn’t reminiscent of any I’d had. I didn’t care for it at all. At $15.25, they could have done better. Tea is no longer complimentary. A measly tea bag of insipid tea is all that is offered. The bowl of miso soup was, at best, only half full. I would rather pay more for quality than be short-changed on quality. Sorry to have lost a favorite restaurant.

This is our favorite place to order sushi from in the area! The restaurant uses the freshest ingredients and the food is consistently delicious. There’s a reason why the restaurant is jam packed throughout the week / weekend, and it’s well worth the wait.
