Authentic freshly made fast food. Affordable and tasty. It was too hot for us to sit down and eat there so we took away and enjoyed at home. Loved the veggie burrito that was vegan friendly

After imbibing far too many Long Island Iced Teas at the Coconut Teaser back in the day we would trek over to the old Oki Dog location about midnight to eat. We planned it so we could eat and then go back to the bar before heading to a hills party and see how much sleep we could lose. There was always a scene. Historically, it’s the CBGB’s of food as it has fed many punks and rockers.

I got the Oki Dog combo: an Oki Dog, fries, and fountain soda for $6 including tax.

Been coming here since 1985. Why is this place not as popular as say, Pink’s, In-n-Out, or Original Tommy’s will always be a mystery to me. The Oki Dog is two footlong wieners, cheese, chili, pastrami wrapped in a burrito. They also serve the Oki Burger that doesn’t come in a bun, among other items in a decent size menu. Used to come here after my record store shopping sprees on nearby Melrose, or middle of the night snack runs before driving up to Griffith Park to watch sunrise. The neighborhood may be less than desirable, but the food is an absolute LA institution.

I’ve been to Oki Dog lots of times since I was a teenager and gotta say that there food is very good and the person who I see there all the time is very cool with me every time.

The legend is true…The now 50 year old joint which has been incredibly popular for punks for the last 43 years (1977) is still open and its reputation is still going strong through incredible word of mouth for its word famous Oki Dogs (Which are basically what I am showing you here in my photos). The staff is incredibly friendly and the prices for the food are extremely reasonable (2 Oki Dogs, two Cokes and two waters for $12? Great deal!).

Classic Los Angeles hot dog spot! Lesser known than Pinks but just as iconic. Must visit if you’re here on vacation
