Subs were “lackluster” and expensive. Bread was good, but I got the idea the franchise owner or manager may have been shorting food to make their numbers better. Subs needed veggies or something. We made combos, which said “any size soda” and we asked for mediums. We got smalls. Which meant we threw away the wrong lids. Again weird because there are free refills. It didn’t hit any of the notes for me to try again. Simply an average offering in a crowded fast food market.

It’s set-up like Cousin Subs but with the fire department theme. Your food comes in containers instead just wrapped with a pickle spear included. Nice! The food choices are different for example I ordered a Brisket sub.

The meatball subs were OK. I have had different experiences as far as how they are made and the taste of them at different Firehouse Sub locations. The meatball subs at this location were not as Good as at other locations. The service there was really Good though. Some of the tables there needed to be cleaned though because there was lettuce chunks on some of the tables from the last customers and some dry yucky stuff on some of the tables. It seems like the Firehouse Subs were a lot better before the Original two Firemen who Founded the restaurants sold it to a big corporation. I think that next Time I will just go to GoldCoast Subs or Jersey Mike’s Subs. Their taste is a lot better

My rating is about service only! The food is great, if you can get it! The service here is getting worse each time I visit (I live in Illinois). The night staff act as if they hate to see customers come in. Tonight they shared they can’t toast bread due to plastic in the toaster. I’m fine without having it toasted. I pay for my order and sit as I hear the manager speaking to a manger/owner who shares to put foil under each order. They continue to mess with the toaster and tell incoming customer they can’t toast bread. After 5 or so minutes of no one ATTEMPTING to make my food, they tell me they don’t have ham. I’m very understanding of a restaurant not having items in stock, but not when 4 employees are missing with the toaster and have me sitting for five minutes. I could use that time going to another restaurant. As someone who loves Firehouse and visits them often, the service here sucks.
