Pasta was just okay, the salad was tasteless with hardly any dressing on it. The salad was served after the pasta. White wine was poured into a red wine glass. They served cold bread with the spread that tasted like mashed potato, instead of olive oil and balsamic vinegar like they always do at Italian restaurants. They placed a piece of paper with some random imprint on it underneath the bread….that seems odd to me. We asked for olive oil and balsamic vinegar or butter and warm bread, and we were told they don’t have a microwave. They brought us supposedly warm bread and butter, but only half of the bread was kind of warm while the other half was cold. It was a weird experience. I thought I have to share.

Thankfully 3 Doors was not another restaurant casualty of the pandemic, but is still going strong. For a restaurant to have a 20+ year run in PDX you have to be consistently good, and develop loyal customers. We’ve been enjoying the food and service at 3 Doors since they were a small bistro in half the space they currently occupy, and they have been one of our go-to Italian dining spots for many years. While they have grown and changed hands over the years, the service & food are as good as ever.

We found it to be a refreshing change from some of the more pretentious restaurants we have been to. The owner and staff graciously accommodated one of our guests who is in a wheelchair. The food was excellent and the drinks were fantastic too! We are coming back soon!

Our first visit and from start to end a great experience. Friendly welcome, engaging server and an inviting menu. The blood orange cocktail was a delightfully refreshing beverage sweet and sour and perfect. The atmosphere was filled with the chatter of friends and family gathered together to break bread, share a meal and catch up. Every dish was well crafted, purposefully displayed and exactly what a good meal is all about. We will definitely be back!

Went here for $6 adult slushy week. Very nice establishment. Knowledgeable bartender who was pleasant to talk to. He created the delicious slushy we tried called Limoncello Mule. Very good. We went back here twice

We had two chef specials: halibut and seafood. Both were delicious. The service was excellent. Try the scallop appetizer.

I’ve lived in Portland for longer than many Local Guides have been alive, and it seems to me that 3 Doors Down was already a destination restaurant when we moved here. If that’s not strictly the case, they have at least been a part of Portland’s food culture long enough to truly be called a classic. And ‘classic’ is the way I’d describe the experience here – I mean that in the best possible sense – subdued lighting and music, efficient, reliable staff and a varied, reliable menu. Pasta with Vodka Sauce has been their signature for as long as I can remember being aware of 3 Doors Down, and it remains my go-to.
