Another awesome “hole in the wall” eating place. Open 1100 – 1400 hrs only. Great food about a mile from I75. Cody is the owner…his grandmother started this place 50 years ago. Home cooking. Fantastic food.

I am not a Buffet person at ALL! However, after church we stumbled across this place up in Adel we live in Valdosta. They did have a menu on top of the buffet. The buffet looked well kept and fresh so we gave it a shot. The food was AMAZING!

After seeing how popular this place is for the last ten-ish years, we finally got a chance to try it. The buffet looked and smelled great, but we decided to try menu items. I got a bacon cheeseburger and my boyfriend got the fried steak sandwich. We got a chicken tender kids meal for our 5-year-old. Food came out hot, fast, and delicious. It might have been our first time, but it won’t be our last.

A wonderful place with a lot of family environment. The service is great and everyone is kind and polite. The food is down home country cooking at its best.

Me and my wife had luch at AJs today. What a small town charm. Takes me back to the old days when Grandma was still around. Nothing Fancy, Just some good food surrounded by good people. The watress made sure our glass was full and we had all the trimmings. We will return to this downhome establisment.

I’ve lived in and around Adel the last 20 years. When friends came from out of town and wanted “country cooking” that I didn’t have to do myself, this is where I took them. A friend from North Carolina walked in with me and was skeptical because the decor was still from 1980, and it’s cooled with window unit A/C’s and always crowded with country people, farmers and workers getting their grub on and talking loud. Everyone knows everyone there.

It’s ok for the price. Wasn’t a very warm and friendly atmosphere but not hostile either. Food was limited in options. Salad bar was uninviting. It may have been due to the fact that we showed up at 1 pm… closing time is 2 pm. Drink was only refilled right before we left. Only one option for desert. Like I said, not horrible for the price but considering the options in I wouldn’t return here. But the people dining there seemed to really like the place and the food so it could just be that o have a preference for another home cooked buffet in Adel that has more options.

Ok, AJ’s Country Kitchen is the “hole in the wall” restuarant that some of us are always LQQKING for! Great tasting country eats! The fried chicken was on point! Juicy and flavorful. The meatloaf was obviously grandma’s receipe! I had 4 servings of meatloaf. That delicious blueberry cobbler must been grandma’s receipe also! I enjoyed the cabbage and collards veggies. Cornbread I thought needs some help, maybe another receipe with creamed corn in it to create some moisture and sweetness. The Tuna salad was tasty. Good salad bar ingredients.

Just had lunch here the other day. I had the buffet. So for one really good price, you can have the buffet, everyday there’s Fried Chicken, salad bar and a refillable drink.

Hadn’t eat there in several years because the food and atmosphere was not good. Went back for the first time the food was excellent and the service was excellent Will be back and often. It is back like it was 15 years ago.
