I understand it’s a different style of pizza but ewww gross. My pizza was cold as were the toppings (which the toppings are supposed to be so that part is fine) i also got a pepperoni roll. The sauce and crust are both gross and I have regrets after eating it. Ive never left a review this soon, I literally just finished my last bite of the pepperoni roll, which was slightly below average but infinitely better than the pizza. I’d advise you stay away; there are much better places nearby. As an added bonus, the premises smelled like cigarettes when I picked up my food and while two of the employees were nice (prepping food) the guy at the register instantly left as i came in the door with only a grumble towards my direction (perhaps he needed a smoke!).

I wish I had visited sooner! I love pizza, and this restaurant has some of the best pizza I have ever had. It is sliced in squares, but larger than usual sheet pizzas, has the cheese added after it comes out of the oven, and has minimal sauce. They only offer pepperoni and banana peppers as toppings, but the pizza would be just fine plain, to be honest. The crust is NOT GREASY, and neither is the cheese. I’m really impressed and will be a repeat customer. They sell by the slice, and the slices are filling. They also have great pepperoni rolls and a delightful marinara sauce. Great vibe inside and cool staff who seem to really be passionate about their food. 10/10 a real hidden gem!

We have driven past Di Carlo’s many times, and finally decided to make the decision to try it.

Grew up on Ohio Valley pizza and it’s far and few left around . Moved to Akron about 5 years ago and there are many great pizza places but nothing like this! Wow exactly what I have been craving and searching for around this area for years. Crunchy thin crust . I can taste the garlic in the sauce . The fresh grated cheese and cold to luck warm pepperoni. It’s simple and amazing ! The service was also great . He was very nice and pizza was ready within minutes. He even brought it out to us when it was ready. This will now be one of my top choices for pizza. Thank you for simplicity of perfection.

Ok – you either like Ohio Valley style pizza or you don’t. My wife grew up along the Ohio River, so to her this was just how pizza was – partially melted cheese and a choice between pepperoni, pepperoni, or pepperoni. While it isn’t my personal favorite (NYC thin for me), it is a great change of pace, and the crust is really good – crispy on the outside with some fluff in the center. I also like supporting local businesses.

Okay. You need to know before you order here, this is a little different than most pizza you are used to. They only offer a couple of toppings, pepperoni, and banana peppers. The cheese is added after the pizza is cooked. (I assume. It isn’t melted or browned). But if you are up for trying something different, this is worth it. Nice crust and excellent sauce. The people working there are very nice too.

I will try to be as fair as possible with this review. I called to place an order, and I thought I did place an order until the end of the call and the clerk told me I had to come in and pay, then wait in my car for the pizza. I thought I would still give it a try and went there and ordered my pizza. They don’t sell in sizes, but by slices, so just understand that before you go in. I ordered 10 pieces for $15.00. It took about 14 minutes and was delivered to my car by a very nice worker.

Moving to area from Philly and needed to accomplish two very important items, 1. find a house and 2. find a pizza place. After trying a few in the area I stopped in DiCarlo’s and it will be my new pizza stop. Love the dough, sauce is fantastic and an overall great pie! Glad I stopped in….

I’m From Marrins Ferry and we had one in town so I grew up on DiCarlos. Worked there in high school, my brother managed it. The Akron location was good when it opened, but has gone down hill ever since, very inconsistent . I’ve never left a review on anyplace, and never thought I would ever leave a bad review for DiCarlos. Hope the Dicarlo family ( Amazing Family) does an intervention soon before their name is tarnished. If you want to experience true Dicarlos, take a trip down to Wheeling or Stubenville and you will experience true Ohio Valley Pizza. Tonight was the last time over paying for someone to ruin my favorite pizza. Leaving this review because this is not true DiCarlos pizza. Some people may like it…. Just not me. Good luck and i hope you get it right soon, for the sake of the Dicarlo name.

First time there, and what a wonderful experience! We told the owner we’d never been there before and he explained the ordering process to us as it’s a little bit different then your traditional pizza shops in the area. We order 6 pieces of pepperoni pizza, a side of banana peppers, and pepperoni roll. Due to the inside dining area being closed, we set up camp in the back of my SUV and had our pizza hand delivered. The crust is amazing! Awesome pizza, couldn’t put it down! We ended up chatting with the owner and a couple of the men working when they stepped outside. They’re so nice! We finished up our pizza and watched the sunset go down. Sunsets are unbelievable from the parking lot! We plan to have parking lot parties or picnics on their lawn in the near future!
