Their Belgium waffles are the closest to the actual ones from Europe that I have ever found in the States. I flew into GR and needed a place close by. The building is cute in a quaint neighborhood across from a little park that was great for walking off the food. I originally went and got breakfast. Then went back, before I flew out for lunch (was hoping they had breakfast available all day so I could get the waffles again, but they do not). I had the vegetarian wrap and it is a lot of food for the price! My dad got a burger and my mom got the triple Susan. Both enjoyed them and also said it was a lot of food for the price. Only marked the atmosphere down one because they seem to be in the middle of updating. It will look great when the updating is complete. I highly recommend it!

It was our first time visiting and dining. We googled breakfast places near Kentwood in Grand Rapids and the Gathering Place popped up and pics looked great. Quaint atmosphere and our server Bianca was so friendly and nice made great recommendations on omelette choices which I got the Southwestern and my friend got the Western omelette, both were delicious and coffee was great. Bianca was so nice we chatted briefly and she made us feel like friends and not just customers! Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area❤️

Very nice breakfast. Clean. Well staffed. Everything was as you’d expect if your mom was in the back cooking. Nothing fancy, but real good tasting hearty food. The slivered almond pancakes were amazing with their special syrup. Definitely can recommend.

We found this restaurant online. It definitely gives you the southern hospitality vibes. Our waitress Candace made us feel home and comfortable. All the employees had on their mask for safety protocols during COVID and customers were spaced out accordingly.

Just a heads up, they DO NOT serve breakfast all day. So we did not stay to eat. It looked good and the staff was very nice. But they were not serving the food we wanted.

Great experience as usual. Plenty of seats on a Saturday morning but we arrived before the rush. Our server was excellent and friendly as well as experienced. Food is top quality. The historical nature of the building is a major part of why we come and why we bring guests. Love this place.

Very quiet and comfortable breakfast spot. The services was good and the food was great! I was in the area with some of my employees before training and the service was very nice and professional. Will definitely go again if I’m in the area.

This place will take you back in time to your grandmother’s kitchen and dining room where the while family gathered for big meals. The hardwood floors and wood ceiling beams are an excellent change from the stoic chain restaurants. Sun poured through the lace shears on the windows with cascading floral curtains. The tables were solid wood with comfy Amish like chairs. And the menu always diverse. I’ll have to go back at least 17 more times to try the other items I couldn’t this trip.
