This place is the real deal, comparable to some in Boston’s north end. Been twice and will be back. The brick roasted chicken was amazing, as well as the scallop linguine and broccoli rabe. Cacio e pepe was phenomenal as well as the tuna crudo. The bone marrow bruschetta and lobster oxtail Bolognese are the true heroes. You have to get these, the mixture of flavors from the lobster and oxtail in the Bolognese create an unexpected combo that really works. A dish unlike any other I’ve tried. The bone marrow bruschetta cannot really be described, simply one of the best appetizers I’ve ever had. It is not your traditional bruschetta, the bone marrow melts into the bread and creates an almost French toast-like texture. Rich citrus flavor and cheese compliment it perfectly. I recommend this place to everyone.

We love Osteria Vivo! We have been here more than a few times. Our favorites include the mussels, “angry pasta” (English translation) and the haddock with polenta. We recently enjoyed the cuttlefish ink gnocchi – delicious. Everything we’ve tried has been incredible! The service is amazing – they make an effort to remember us, even with months between visits.

Recently had our first visit for a birthday celebration. The space is inviting, but tight – glad we were early enough to avoid the major crowd. The place fills up fast. The staff are all friendly. Service was good. There was 2 apps & 2 entree specials in addition to the menu. We ordered the app specials: salmon tartare & duck meatballs. The salmon was served under a blanket of arugula and tasty. The med. sized meatballs were in a brothy juice – 8 to the order, so shareable. I can’t say I would recognize them as being duck, but they were pretty good. I did find it odd that we were expected to eat the apps from our bread plate. Oh yeah, if you want bread you have to pay for it – we ordered focaccia, which was probably my favorite dish of the night.

As a local realtor, I love referring clients to great restaurants. Look no further. The food is off the charts. I will need to go back at least 20 more times to be able to try all dishes that caught my eye. Lobster & Oxtail Bolognese – yes yes yes. The Duck dish – OMG. RUN to this restaurant

We arrived with a party of 10 on a very busy Saturday night. We were seated on time and had a wonderful server, Hannah. She was most attentive, our dishes were cleared in a timely manner and our water glasses were always full. We had a bit of everything! There were crudo app specials, butternut squash app, meatballs, focaccia, salad, homemade pasta, etc. There are choices for those who like simple and those who like exciting!
