We visited El Carreton in Greenville, Ohio today for a yearly luncheon with my husband’s high school graduation class of 1969. What a fantastic choice of restaurants! I liked El Carreton from first look. The decor was simple but very welcoming. I also enjoyed that the piped-in music was Mexican, which added to the atmosphere.

WOW!! I have found my new favorite place! I ordered the steak enchilada. The tortilla was crispy and buttery, and the steak was well seasoned and very tender. The portions were huge. Wait staff was prompt, courteous, and on point. I will definitely be back!! Well done, thank you!!

The sweet tea was fantastic. Friendly staff. My food definitely could have been better. My salad – shredded lettuce ( grocery store bag variety), cheese ( fairly good ) and tomato ( yes tomato… As in one giant slice of one in the middle of my plate ). Plus the place was so strong with the smell of pine sol, gave me a headache. Best thing I could suggest when heading towards El Carreton… Just remember there is a Las Marias not to far away that has far better food.

Portions were plentiful especially considering their prices. The decor inside is welcoming and a unique change from the other local restaurants. Our server did a great job and most importantly our food was delicious! Their birthday dessert is a great way to top a special day. Easily the best Mexican dining experience in the Dayton area.

What a great place! The horchata and complimentary salsa were both top-notch, and the steak and chicken chimis were also fantastic. I wandered up to check out the local nature preserve and am glad I picked El Carraton as my first foray into the Greenville food scene.

One of my favorites, if not my favorite place to eat in Greenville. The food is always amazing and made fresh and still steaming when it gets to the table. The staff are very friendly and always make sure you have anything you need and make sure your order is spot on or they are quick to fix anything. Very large portions and very affordable for the amount of food you get. Great place to dine with family or friends or even large parties of people. I go at least twice a month. Great Authentic mexican style food at a great price. I highly recommend this place to everyone you will leave full and not disappointed.
