I’ve been yet again swindled by Mr Ike. I’ve ordered here three times and all three times it’s been a bad experience. The first time I ordered a turkey and bacon sandwich. They charged $2 extra for the bacon which I’m okay with provided I get bacon….. They put vegan fake bacon on… I placed this order through Grubhub so I wrote it off as a mistake (It did not specify that it was vegan bacon on Grubhub and I assumed it would be real bacon). The second time they smothered it in mayo despite me specifying “no mayo”, but again it was through Grubhub so I excused the mistake. However, I went to the store and ordered in person today to avoid Ike’s wrath for Grubhub orders. It turns out I was mistaken. These issues weren’t because of problems with Grubhub ordering, Ike just spends too much time loving and not enough time sandwiching. I ordered a salami and cheddar sandwich. What I got was an abomination to my small fraction of Italian heritage. The salami was NOT salami. I’m pretty sure it’s some weird vegan substance that was merely impersonating my salami. The cheddar was nowhere to be found, I can only imagine it fled the scene of the crime that was this sandwich. Even the vegan salami was sparsely populated amongst the forest of lettuce that I can only imagine was shot onto my sandwich by a lettuce cannon. Not only was lettuce the dominating species inside my sandwich but it also invaded the ENTIRE SANDWICH WRAPPER. There was lettuce everywhere which generally isn’t an issue because I like lettuce, but on this particular day the lettuce bazooka must’ve missed the sandwich and landed it’s shot in my wrapper because 70% of the lettuce was in the wrapper. I get that some people would like vegan salami and bacon, and I’m happy they offer that. However, asking for a salami sandwich should entail real salami unless someone specifies that they want vegan salami. I’ve included pictures of the sandwich as well as the “salami”. Excuse the blurry photo my hands were trembling in fear of this sad looking monstrosity.

Very disappointed. First Ike’s visit. The service was great. The sandwich was not. You cannot neglect one of the two main parts of a sandwich. The meat, the filling and sauce were great. The Dutch crunch was neither Dutch nor crunch, and it was frozen inside.

Friendly staff! One gentleman pretended to answer my allergy questions but he wasn’t honest about not understanding English – so he answered incorrectly. The other showed me Ike’s allergy card and answered all my questions. Glad to support businesses with vegan options. FYI the Meatless Mike meatballs are spicy like Italian sausages to those who are pepper-sensitive. Had to give it away to someone in my household. Also the sodium content is SUPER-HIGH – 1850 mg!! I’m adding my own vegan burger and eating half today and half tomorrow to just to balance it all out. Overall good flavor, yet a bit pricey for a sandwich.

This place has the BEST variety of tasty sandwiches! I love trying new sandwiches there and am never disappointed with the taste or price. They definitely take a little while to make the sandwiches but trust me, they are worth the wait. The price is good for what you get and my personal favorite sandwich is the Floribunda on French bread. Enjoy!

If you have a love for sandwiches, then ikes (any ikes, they are all equally awesome!) is place for you. They vegan, vegetarian and omnivore options to suit any taste. Our gotos are the Mad Bum, Paul Reubens and Steph Curry. We ALWAYS go for their Dutch Crunch bread and dont forget to ask for red onions if you’re like me

Super annoyed… I went to the Burlingame location. First of all the guy who was trying to listen to my order could barely speak English and was not listening to my words, so I asked for someone else to take my order. The guy who actually new how to speak English took my order. Then when I got it it was the wrong sandwich. Which tells me that no one is doing their job right?! And I paid $12 for a sandwich that wasn’t even what I ordered!! Who hired these people??

My favorite sandwich is the Floribuna, a Burlingame exclusive! Orders always take a bit longer than I expect, but I’m always super happy to have freshly made flavor upon first bite. I might ask for half dirty sauce on my sandwich next time though, since it can be pretty garlicky and salty.
