This is probably one of the best places I’ve ever eaten at. I am from the north so I haven’t been to these restaurants before, but, I am glad I took the time and chose to go there while on vacation. Not gonna lie, it made me quit being vegetarian cause of how good the chicken was. Staff was extremely nice and got the food within 5 minutes, there was 6 of us and we all got the food within that time. The chicken was very delectable and the bread was AMAZING as well. I was and still am extremely happy with the food.

Ordered dine in for the first time in a while. Simple order of BBQ plate substitute fries and stew for the slaw and potato salad. One other occupied table in the entire restaurant. Placed order and sat down with my drink in full view of the counter. Several customers came in behind me placed take out orders for their orders and left. Sit down customer came in placed their order and were served. I asked the lady at the counter who took my order when I would be served (28 minutes after my order) and she said she thought I had already been served! Really? At a table by myself in full view of the counter with no food on it?!! Hurriedly got served with cold BBQ!?? Never again. This place used to have great food and service but it’s gone now. Not going to eat at Smithfield’s ever again… anywhere!

You know what to expect if you’ve eaten here before. Good chicken and BBQ and sides. My only issue is, and has been before, asking for a side dish to be packaged separately and it doesn’t happen. I’m one of those who doesn’t want the baked beans with their soupy wetness overflowing onto my crispy chicken and fries…because it makes them soggy. Some folks don’t care either way and that’s cool. But if a customer requests the beans be put in a separate container, I don’t think that’s unreasonable and would hope they would follow through with the ordering process. Maybe the folks packing up the meal don’t know. Whatever the case, this place is expensive and not listening to this customer makes me want to find someone else who will.

Best customer service! I mean the lengths that these workers went out of their way to help me decide what to order as a first-time customer that was skeptical of trying a new place. I was so surprised at how great the fried chicken is! Delicious perfect texture and crunch and a 4 piece of two breasts and two thighs and a dozen hush puppies was under $14! WHAT!?!?! You can’t beat this deal I mean the price point, amazing service, and delicious food?! How have I gone all this time without being told to try? Well, I wanted to give credit where it is due bc it’s far and few in between where you get all three in a fast food type setting.

I’m used to ordering the chicken tender platter but I wasn’t very hungry today so I ordered the chicken snack which consisted of fries, one chicken breast and a very small chicken wing for nine dollars and change. I actually took it back as a walk in from the drive-through and explained and they were glad to exchange my order for what I normally get but just the snack because again I wasn’t very hungry. What I got was two chicken tenders and a piece of one so I would say about a 2 1/4 of the three piece. I think it’s my last trip there. I had to remind the guy at the window to put ranch in my bag when he was checking out the girl in the parking lot and pretty much ignoring me. Sheesh .

My husband said his chicken plate was okay. I had the shrimp snack with his hush puppies. Did not expect breaded salad shirmp not to my liking. The fries were both hard and not cooked and hush puppies were over cooked. Sorry but I was very disappointed.
