Had dinner here. Ordered the carnitas with corn tortillas. The order came out with flour tortillas but the server fixed that quickly. Taste was good. Also ordered the grilled shrimp that was delicious. Finished it off with an order of flan.

I was very disappointed! The food was not good at all. The protein that I chose for my taco was bland. Our server wore oven mitts when he served our meals. Why he had them on idk, because the rice was cold, and the other items were lukewarm. Our server was horrible! He couldn’t answer the questions we had about the menu. We asked for a straw 3 TIMES- never got it! The food was so bad, we paid for it and left it on the table. It was just an all-around bad experience.

Wilmington has quite a variety of Mexican / Latin restaurants throughout town (throw in a food truck or 2) and Plaza Mariachi is one that seems to hide under the radar. My family and I have dined here on a few occasions but I haven’t taken the time to write a review until today. Really not sure why. Regardless…Plaza Mariachi isn’t going to be the best Mexican food you’ll remember in life, they still deliver tasty dishes and are consistent each and every time.

This place is my boyfriend and I’s go to when we eat out. You get so much food and for such a good price, and it’s genuinely good. The staff is great and super quick with our orders too. Ramon is usually our waiter. He’s amazing and is always super, super welcoming. Such a good place to dine out.

Worse company to eat at and work for . RAMON the manager is very unprofessional. The mother of Ramon that works there is very rude . She don’t know how to speak good English so she comes off very rude . There is an old man that sleeps by the bar almost everyday . They use their hands to scoop chips . No gloves just bare hands . They don’t wash the chip baskets . They will reuse the paper for the chips in the basket . Not a very clean place . They water down there tequila so you’re not even drinking tequila .

Best Mexican food in North Carolina and Wilmington!!! Highly recommended you go eat there for the Hispanic culture there. The food is awesome and delicious especially the tacos and chulipas and shrimp chimichangas meal is the best there!! The chips and dip are on point the churricaso is the best you can get in Wilmington it’s so flavorful and mouth warming! The queso is super good with guacamole it’s so tasty and delicious.
