We came for restaurant week but decided to order straight off the menu instead. Their fried chicken is delicious as well as the sinful honey biscuits. For appetizers, we ordered the deviled eggs and the meat pies. The deviled egg filling is dense, but it has a good flavor. I am used to creamier deviled eggs, so I am not sure how I feel about theirs. The meat pies were incredibly flavorful and filling. I could only eat one because I had more food coming. My fried chicken came with Macaroni and cheese. The plate was huge and so very delicious. My friend ordered the roasted chicken with the Jalapeños grits. Her chicken looked good, but the fried chicken was the winner. The grits were creamy, cheesy, and comforting. We really enjoyed our meals and will be back.

Really nice restaurant with a great atmosphere. Really great spot if you are looking for some southern cooking. The one hang-up was our food took 45 mins to reach our table it was busy but the manager apologized and offered us a free dessert. Overall the food was tasty and had great flavor.

The happy hour is great if you like fresh oysters. They’re $1 per oyster and they’re very fresh. Came here for $1 oysters, $3 frozen margaritas, and $6 for 3 meat pies and I was good. Plus, the staff are very friendly. IMO this location is way better than the Pearl.

Walked in, the place absolutely reeks of floor cleaner. It smells awful. Secondly, they don’t serve coke. A southern style restaurant doesn’t serve Coca Cola product. That’s pretty funny. The third strike was when they poured water out of the jug, with no ice in the glass, and the water tasted like it was literally out of the sink.

Great food… Service started slow but they took care of us. The floor manager made sure we were happy, which we appreciated. Great place. Max and cheese is richer than heck… Fried chicken is extremely tender and juicy.

We had a great time at Southerleigh tonight. This was our first time back since they first opened and everything was so much better. I had the redfish and it was delicious. The oysters with shallots were also excellent! My friend had crab cakes that were mostly filler, but the manager sent out a replacement that was full of crab. Excellent service and we enjoyed our meal. We will be back!

Beautiful presentation. Eggs in the Egg in a Hole were over done, the Texas Toast was kind of too hard but the hospitality was excellent. Prices were average for San Antonio. Chances are the other menu items are probably much better.

Oysters are $1 each during happy hour and they were delicious. I would go back, just for the oysters. For our entrees we had chicken. I had the fried, spicy chicken with mashed potatoes. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the seasoning was good, just a tad salty. The potatoes were okay, not seasoned very well and they came out cold. They serve a honey biscuit with the chicken. It was good, but very sweet and drenched in honey. A bit too rich for my taste, but tasty. The cocktails were decent. Servers were friendly and attentive.
