The food was good, but a little expensive. The wait times to get in were long, but it was around the dinner rush time. Our servers were nice and checked on our table often to do things like refill drinks and ask how our food was.

Was looking for best Mexican to eat. Reviews were good so we went. Food was fresh and very good. I got chicken burrito. It was different than used to but it was better then I’ve had anywhere else. Server gave us great service and was very personable. Will definitely be back.

The food was good as always, but the waiter wasn’t polite, nor kind, he wasn’t speaking at all, he nodded his head instead of asking questions or answering. We are Spanish and we are used to nice Mexican restaurants, but this we won’t comeback, we had American friends with us and we felt embarrassed for the waiter, the hostess and the food server weren’t wearing the work uniform, but a sweat pants and a regular shirt with jeans. I’m sorry for the cookers, they work hard, but they’re losing costumers.

We got a mixture of food items from steak fajitas, seafood fajitas, kids chimi dog and carne asada plate. The food was really good, our server was very kind and made sure we had refills. Forgot to take pictures but will definitely visit again.

Approached the lobby and weren’t acknowledged for a few minutes even though people saw us. They weren’t busy. Handwritten signs telling you to “wait to be seated.” Queso dip was like water. Salsa was good. Had the beef enchiladas and rice. Absolutely no flavor whatsoever. Service was also slow and not very good. Will not return.

First time eating at Mi Tierra. We have come to HHI for the last 8 years and found this gem today! Food was excellent and service was great. It is tucked away and not on the main (Pope) road but just off a bit. Prices were no different than back home so not sure why some said it was expensive–much more expensive Mexican places on the island. The menu is robust and is traditional mexican but also a flare for local seafood. If you have a craving for mexican I would recommend it 100%.

This restaurant is amazing! First, it is tucked away a little. We would never have found it without a gps. The decor is old authentic Mexico. I know there have been issues with waiting to be seated ( I had a friend who left because after 5 minutes of waiting for a hostess to give them attention, they didn’t want to wait any longer). We were seated immediately. Jonathan was our waiter. AWESOME! He checked on us frequently, always happy and smiling, and fast. We have 5 kids, so we were nothing special to say the least. The chips and salsa were excellent! I’ve never had salsa like that!! By far, the best! (I hate jar, store bought salsa) This was not that. Chips came out hot. I ordered a mango margarita (actually 2). They were amazing. Next food…I had carne asada (thin steak) and my husband had carne asada Hundurian style (ticker streak). BOTH WERE PERFECT!! I loved the beans, and the pico de gallo with the meal! There was no cactus salad like other Mexican restaurants (it’s good stuff, but a waste of space on a plate, seriously). One of my kids had the Kids chicken tenders with fries. When I took the picture, we had eaten half his fries. THEY WERE AWESOME! And his chicken tenders were perfectly fried and seasoned. Even my husband loved them. Great portion for a 2 & 4 year old! My 5 year old ordered a kids quesadilla, but that was gonna before I could take a picture. Also excellent. My 2 older boys ordered the beef/chicken fajitas. Came out sizzling hot, more than enough food, and they loved it! I ordered the chicken soup from the appetizer. So delicious…chunks of avocado, carrots, chicken breast…it was amazing! I would absolutely recommend this to everyone who passes through HHI. I’m just sorry we found it on our last night there. We will probably pass through just for this place. YES, IT WAS THAT GOOD!
