Root Down is grounded in story and character.
As a vision from diverse backgrounds, the riff behind the name pays homage to the late and great Jimmy Smith, a legendary 1960’s jazz musician. His live song and album, recorded in 1972 entitled Root Down (And Get It) speaks to the ability of returning to the root or “one” chord of the song. Melodic, raw, vital, earthy.
The Beastie Boys, taking their own spin on the tune made it funky, gritty and fresh in the album Ill Communication. Mirroring the song’s history, Root Down’s philosophy echoes these cords. We are imperfect but celebrate the flaws.
Root Down’s ability to combine and complement a team is rooted in a foundational belief that each individual brings flavor, personality and strength

Great place to eat if you have some time in Denver airport. The decorations inside is beautiful, live plants on the wall and globes hanging on the ceiling, there are tables right next to the big windows where you can see the planes outside.

Our bartenders made this visit everything it was! “Meaghan” was the entertainment, the menu expert, and the “star” bartender! She makes spectacular margaritas ! The food suggestions were outstanding, and the atmosphere of this restaurant (at the bar) was one of the best I’ve ever found at an airport! Anytime you’re in the Denver Airport and need a “great” meal, stop in! It was worth the time and walk! Airport prices, but you have to eat somewhere! Enjoy as we did!

Long over-due review for my “best” restaurant @ DIA. Busy all day yet fast, friendly service. A menu offering something for everyone & windows w great views. With enough time I’ll go here to C Concourse – regardless of my Gate.

This is my all-time favorite airport restaurant. The beet & goat cheese salad with grilled chicken is SO delicious. The beet and hazelnut chutney and the vibrant red and yellow beets are a real treat. My only critique is the greens were a little over dressed this last trip. The greens are delicate, and the excessive dressing really weighed them down. But I’m excited to go to their brick and mortar this trip! Cheers!

Had the gluten free beef burger with the regular fries. I have celiac disease, so I was relieved to find that the server seemed to know her stuff. It was quite tasty and, most importantly, I didn’t get sick for my flight. They seem to take allergens very seriously.

Root Down is a highly praised restaurant located in Concourse C of the Denver International Airport. The restaurant’s concept is centered around healthy and sustainable food, and they source ingredients from local farms whenever possible.

This place was a breath of fresh air, especially as someone who is gluten free. It is so difficult to get good food that is gf, but they had options upon options! I ordered the house salad, Thai soup and Bolivian grilled cheese (which is an arepa) and all three were AMAZING! My server was so fun and attentive and the restaurant itself was really cool. Also the food came out really quickly, but I was not in a hurry

We had a great time here on our layover. Once of the best airport restaurants I’ve been to. Quality inventive cocktails, cool interior, and the beet goat cheese salad was one of the best salads I’ve ever had!

Honestly, the salad was not very good. It looked nice, but it was very bland. The tofu was dry, over cooked and had no flavor. Definitely not worth $20. However, the service was excellent and as usual they were very quick.
