Guacamole and chips were delish, i had lengua (beef tongue) gorditas..it’s like a brisket taco… so good! My wife had a chicken quesadilla.. and the margaritas were so good. We will be back!

Hidden gem. Do yourself a favor and skip Guadalajara in favor of this restaurant instead. Quick service, delicious (and massive portion) of horchata will make you do a little dance during the short wait before the food arrives. We got 4 different meats for the tacos, and all were excellent with the pulled pork being the favorite. The chicken burrito was also delicious.

Don’t be put off by the location. El Comalito serves fantastic food with a familial atmosphere. Run by a mother and her three daughters, you can’t help but feel the love that goes into all aspects of the experience. They focus on serving traditional Mexican comfort food and execute phenomenally. The enchiladas and tacos made with homemade masa tortillas are a must try. Whether you’re a local looking to try something new or a visitor looking for a casual Mexican spot, El Comalito should be on your radar.

It’s a must visit place in Charlottesville. Super tasty Mexican food, we got Tacos Placeros and Enchiladas and could not decide which is better. Will definitely be back to try all the items on the menu.

Just wow, I had no idea Mexican (El Salvadoran?) could have so much flavor and freshness! I had Chilaquiles (cooked with red sauce, quite spicy, but you may want the green sauce), my wife had sopes, amazing!

Chicken Empanada was with great flavors. One young server had absolutely 0 emotions which was very unpleasant but the other lady was very kind and friendly. Lots of food which you get almost 2 meals out of 1 dish.
