We are from Michigan and we LOVE going to Rudy’s when we visit our family here. We have made it a tradition to eat here at least once every time we visit Texas and the whole family can find something they love on the menu. Our favorites are the sausage links, turkey, potato salad and creamed corn. Of course you need to get some Shiner Bock to go with everything. Make sure you get a military discount if you’re in the service and pick up a tee shirt in the store to support our troops.

I had catering this past weekend from Rudy’s for my wedding and I was so impressed. The time for delivery was 1:30pm and they were there even earlier and set everything up for us. The food was delicious and I had so many leftovers! I just want to say how happy I was with the timely service and delicious food we received! My dad was in charge of it and spoke with Mikayla (sorry if I’m spelling it wrong). I called the day before to change the contact person for them to call when they were on the way and they were very understanding. Overall amazing and I was so happy with how great everything tasted. I got some many compliments on the cream corn! Great service, professional delivery, and very prompt service.

I got the chop which is ok. The service was fantastic, the ladies that work there were really nice and the experience was fine enough.

Could smell the smokers before I drove up! The sliced brisket was delicious and the peach cobbler was unique and so yummy. There is outside seating and inside seating so you aren’t fighting the heat and boy was it hot at 107!

Being new to the area we are always on the lookout for good tasting bbq. Rudy’s is a very good option. The brisket was tender and juicy. The sausage was delicious. Chopped mixed meat had the right amount of sauce mixed in. The ribs were good but didn’t wow me. I wasn’t a fan of the cream corn but that’s not too say it was bad. Just not my type. This place is definitely on our short list of good bbq spots in San Antonio. We will be back.

We’ve been a couple of times and I think it is excellent BarBQ. Showed up with our work group and everyone had what they wanted. Highly recommend.

We spent over $70 on various meats and they actually gave us a 1/2 lb briscuit that you couldn’t cut, couldn’t chew. It was the nastiest pile of fatty meat. Yuk. So trimmed briscuit good. Regular absolutely not !!! Turkey good. Ribs good. All the sides were good ! Just the star. Brisket. Shame onYou Rudy’s

We went here for Father’s day at the request of my grandfather in law. We’d never been and didn’t know how to order. There was no time for questions though because the staff kept rushing us and yelling at us to move forward. My husband’s 1/2 pound of chopped was the same size as my 1/4 pound serving. The prices were a lot for the serving sizes and taste. Bill Millers does a better peach cobbler, and its warm. Next time someone suggest going here, we will politely decline. It also isn’t very kid friendly as they don’t have a lot of side options or kid size serving options.

I am fairly new to San Antonio, in fact, I have only lived here for two weeks, and I have been looking out to find a place in town that is not anywhere else. I stopped in today, and the wait wasn’t bad, it was only about a 15 minute wait to be served, but prices seem a little high, compared to other places that serve the same level of food. I got the chopped, the chicken, and the sausage. The sausage taste like any other smoked sausage, the chopped tasted tart, there was flavor, but the only flavor I was tasting was the sauce that it is completely drowned in. The chicken itself was extremely bland, and very oily. There was barely any flavor at all. I was not a fan of the baked beans, because they did not taste like baked beans at all. They taste like they just came out of the can. The only thing that I found I enjoyed eating was the potato salad. The total for my meal was roughly $20, and the serving sizes are a bit small. I gave the place two stars, because of the fact that they support veterans, and give free meals to World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam war veterans any time. They also ask every customer if there are any veterans eating so that they can give a discount. I find that main stream and franchise barbecue restaurants serve better tasting food, and seem to be more consistent.
