Stumbled upon this gem while looking for dinner without a reservation and was PLEASANTLY surprised from the moment we walked in! The lighting certainly set the mood for the moment to finally relax after a long workday and our waitress, Tish, took care of us til the moment we left. The food was delicious, ordered the burrata- heirloom tomato special and branzino st. tropez; as well as the drinks, got the Barbie cocktail. Tish also treated us to one of their amazing desserts, the chocolate 7 layer cake and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies . Can’t wait to go back!

As I walked in I was immediately cared for and brought right to my table. As I strolled through the restaurant the decor was breath taking and I felt like I was in a upscale modern tavern. As I began with the fried calamari it was delectable and I could not eat it fast enough. The service was absolutely thrilling. My water glass was always filled and the waiter left us with the perfect amount of time to make our food choices. I opted for the Bash Burger. My taste buds were absolutely tickled. I was left smiling and satisfied. I will definitely be dining at this fine establishment again very soon.

It’s such a shame a good kitchen is being let down by poor service. We took 8 guests to dinner and the food was good but it seemed like the servers had better things to do than look after us properly. They were pushy about taking orders befor we sipped our for cocktails then they didn’t seem to understand starters come before main course the worst was our wine finally arrived after we had finished our main course.

Went here for the first time last week and had the most incredible experience. It is such a cozy restaurant with a great atmosphere. The food was absolutely incredible, every single thing we ordered was amazing, cooked to perfection with delicious flavors. And what truly made the entire experience was the staff. The general manager was the kindest, sweetest, warm person and she’s funny too! Our server, Janelle was also so so so great and also had the best personality and provided amazing service. From now on, every time I visit NYC I will not be missing the Smyth Tavern.

To start, our server Tish, certainly deserves a promotion. She went above and beyond to set the tone for an unforgettable dinner. In our opinion she would be much better suited in a higher capacity. Saw the pasta on Mike Chau’s story and needed to try — it tasted even better than it looked. The burger also looked delicious, but besides the sesame bun, it tasted pretty average, and wasn’t serviced with anything other than ketchup; fries were underdone/floppy. Service was a bit off but I think this place just opened, so no big deal. Drinks were mostly ice. 10/10 would go again for the lobster pasta.

We are guests at the hotel and wandered into the tavern. Much to our delight, we were greeted kindly and served by the beautiful and effervescent TISH who warmly provided a lovely dining experience complete with sweet surprises and she didn’t even know it was our anniversary. We are so grateful. And the cheesecake- wow!
