This is the first time trying this restaurant since changing the name..I just want to say it’s not worth the money! If I could, I would give ZERO stars! The food was absolutely disgusting.. I had the fish sandwich, it had so much tarter sauce the bun was soggy and not even warm, my husband had the Juicy Lucy, the first bite he had, it bursted all over the table, it was not even warm, no flavor whatsoever! The Cashier in front who takes your order was the only one who tried to make us feel welcomed but not one person came by to ask us our food was?! It seems like no one cared! My kids had the hot dogs and they said, it tastes funny. Also the soda machines: one had no ice and all the sodas tasted flat and there was more carbonation than the actual flavor.

We love coming to Wahlburgers for dinner as a lower cost meal. Kids love the Mac n cheese and mini burgers and of course tater tots. I love the OFD every time and that tomato jam adds the perfect flavor to make it an amazing burger. My hubby is GF and gets his OFD wrapped in lettuce. Also got here before 6 and had half off apps. Bbq wings were big and meaty with home made blue cheese. Yum!

Service has fallen after Covid, tough manning it so you order at front desk. Not the fault of current employees.

I’ve eaten at a Wahlburgers stand-alone restaurant before and it was fantastic. Unfortunately the Wahlburgers at Hy-Vee in cottage grove was anything but!

Staff was extremely nice! Nothing at all against them. The reason for the three stars is the price vs what you get. I got the feeling that they were trying to be a nicer sit down type of restaurant with prices that match. It’s really not, one because you order your food and then go sit down, Two the quality of the food for the price does not add up. I paid about $17 before tip for a burger and fries. Now don’t get me wrong the food was pretty good for a restaurant attached to a grocery store. If the food had cost me like $10 to $12 this would probably be a 5 star review.

This place just keeps getting worse and worse. Our last time coming here. Arrived Saturday morning placed our order, was told it would be a little wait for our food because of a “function “going on. After waiting 45 minutes and seeing that not one table had received their orders we decided that enough was enough. We were offered a cinnamon roll for our wait, but guess what? That too never arrived. We could see what was going on in the kitchen because of their short circuit TV cameras, we laughed watching the cooks running around like a 3 ring circus , and getting nothing out to the tables, and it wasn’t that busy. The only nice thing out of the whole ordeal was a visit from Santa!! Yes Santa was there. He asked if I had been good this year, I said ” not really”!! He said, thanks for telling me, you saved me a trip!!

Always the best food, deals and great service and over the top events. So many reasons to keep going back. Super fast service also.

Food is not served fresh and well-done means pink corners and cold centers for burgers. The bartender is friendly but not adept at pouring.

Wahlburgers is the best burger chain in the U.S. – hands down. Tasty burgers/sides, great service and very talented staff! They only thing that could top it would be to meet a Wahlberg! I hope they gonna survive this freaking pandemic crises, must be hard.

When this was the Hy-vee Cafe it was a very enjoyable experience. Since the Wahlburger takeover it’s terrible. The menu is poor, prices are higher, and quality has declined. BUT the kicker was when we arrived Saturday to find that you now place your order at the counter from a very limited menu and get handed your drinks to carry back to the table. We’ve eaten here ever since it opened but this did me in. We left without ordering anything and we’ll never be back unless it changes. If I wanted this type of experience I’d go for fast food. We enjoy sitting down with a menu, deciding what we’d like and enjoying the time out. Hy-vee please wake up. You’re a local, employee owned company. Why are you catering to these east coasters?
