Such a cozy spot for our anniversary. Lorraine was super attentive and very kind. I watched the manager really be involved with his restaurant. The food was superb, the filet just melted in my mouth.

Our first time here. The staff were so wonderful and attentive! We didn’t have reservations so we were seated in the bar area. Just our luck! The bartender was terrific, sharing the history and ghost stories with us . She recommended the prime rib, they are known for it. I have never had prime rib that tasted like that! We each got the 8 oz and still took half of it home. All the ingredients were high quality, as was the service. They anticipate your needs as you eat. We will be back. Such a great experience!

My wife and I have been enjoying meals at Captains Anchorage for the seven years we have lived in Big Bear. The food is always very good including the fish, steak, prime rib and appetizers, everything.

Sean was our server. Spoke multiple languages and did everything he could to make everyone feel included and special. What an asset to a fine place to dine when in big bear. Menu was diverse. Wine and alcohol was extensive for the area. Food was reasonably priced. I would recommend and I would for sure return

Right down the street from my place and stoked it is. One of my old school favorites summer or winter. I have been eating at the bar since the summer of 1997 and always meet interesting people. The ghost that lives there likes whiskey. I like the salad bar and you can get a good steak or fish filet too. Dig it.

We ended up here after not being able to find anything else that was open for dinner at 7:45 at night. We had been looking for bar food, so the kids were super disappointed when there were no burgers on the menu and really struggling when we arrived because it was late and they were hungry. Our server, Jessica, however, was amazing – so kind and patient and understanding and she completely turned our night around and we ended up having a delicious and enjoyable dinner!

We made reservations for our anniversary dinner. They even asked when we made said reservation if we were celebrating anything special. When we got there the hostess said happy anniversary, and then sat us in the bar… like what!? The lady who was the bar tender was also our waitress who was great. The food was ok, but for the price, not really. I ordered the 8 oz prime rib, and was served at least 16oz, which I thought was strange considering thier pricing was so high. My wife ordered the veggie tortellini, and her plate was 80% broccoli and cauliflower. I figured when they asked when we made the reservation if we were celebrating something, they would have at least given us dessert, and sat us on the actual restaurant side. I have more than half of my prime rib in the fridge and a ton of my wife’s broccoli left over. I do not see myself going back.
