Great breakfast spot right off Hamden/285. Quick and delicious. The steak skillet was awesome. Small but had seats when I visited. Need to go back and try the burritos which looked incredible.

This is my favorite sort of place! It’s a wonderful mix of 50s classic diner meets cheerful Mexican home. It felt just like being at a little roadside taqueria or visiting a friendly home in Mexico–but where your can also get pancakes and biscuits and gravy. Favi, the owner, is a true delight of a person and makes you feel very welcomed and cared for. I wished I lived closer, as I would happily become a regular here! Even so, I’ll definitely make the trip down whenever I want both a delicious burrito (and their churros are just amazing!) and to feel like I’m visiting a friend’s home!

Judging by the other comments, I think their prices may have changed recently. Got take out and this was $18 and change. This is supposed to be 2 sides of hash browns, but this looks like one. I did call to confirm after and they confirmed they just have small portion sizes.

I only rated them 4 stars on “Atmosphere” because it’s a really small “mom & pops” kind of place and it’s usually crowded in there. But it’s a real hidden gem and the fact that it’s usually crowded is because their food/service is good. So that makes sense. I just don’t like feeling crowded in. So, I always get my orders to-go.

Home cafe was okay. I ordered a smothered avocado burrito with bacon. The green chile had a good amount of heat but there were several chile stems and roasted chile skin that I had to pick out. The avocados were a nice touch and the bacon added a good flavor but I had to keep picking those little stems out of my mouth.

Unexpected but awesome breakfast spot. We came on a Sunday with large party of seven and we were seated right away. This place is covered in rooster decor, license plates, and funny signs. I love the laid back vibe. Mexican style dishes- hueveos rancheros, breakfast burritos, and skillets. I got Ernesto’s skillet and it was perfection. The chorizo, peppers, and cactus gave it so much flavor. I highly recommend it. The service is quaint. River Pointe doesn’t have any authentic breakfast spots, only Panera, so head here before the Sunday Costco shop and enjoy a tasty breakfast.

Such an amazing local hidden gem. I had the burger and fries which were cooked perfectly and so delicious! My boyfriend had an enormous burrito that had the perfect balance of flavor. We also had churros for dessert that were excellent. The owner was an absolute doll and so welcoming! If I could give this place 10 stars, I would! We will definitely be back!!
