Buonissimo!!! After living in Italy for 3 years it’s hard to enjoy Italian food in the states. But we appreciate the local and authentic Italian feels of this family owned business. The wine menu is great, and the ingredients fresh and flavorful. The service was impeccable and despite not having a reservation the owner was very happy to accommodate a table for us as long as we could finish our meal in time for the party who had reserved it — this wasn’t a problem for us and we felt grateful to appreciate a delicious Italian meal amid a warm atmosphere. We will definitely return and are glad we found this gem in our new town!

A truly 5 star experience. Every aspect of our dinner was perfect. The cozy interior, our caring waitress, and the wonderful food. We ordered the Italian cheese platter for an appetizer which was delicious. My meal, the ravioli di zucca, was flavorful and calming. I absolutely loved Mamma Luisa; it was a perfect experience, with authentic Italian setting. How peaceful and comforting this hidden gem is!

Sorprendente. Truly amazing. Warm, delicious, kind and professional. I would say that it is like eating at your Italian grandma’s house but your Italian grandma never made food this good!! I must say that everything was really good but the gnocchi were amazing. The service was exceptional also. I think my favorite thing was that we were the last table to leave and we really didn’t want to leave but everyone was so friendly even though we were probably slowing them all down from going home!

A fine restaurant with a homey feel. The food was excellent however it was the service that greatly inspired me to write this review. If you have the opportunity to dine at this establishment I hope you are as fortunate to have Ana Maria as your server. She was attentive, humorous and accommodating to our party. My only issue if you can call it that is with whom I came to find out was the owner. I had come in one night before my stay in Newport was over and wished to enjoy a cappuccino alongside their amazing pistachio cheese cake, unfortunately though many tables were vacant they were all reserved. I took this in stride and simply asked for the cake to go. The owner in a rather rude manner asked if had 10 dollars like I could not afford such and was wasting his time. At this I pulled out a wad of cash gave him a 20 and told him he could keep the change

Anniversary dinner. Hadn’t been there in 6 years. Decor has not changed, but neither has the quality of the food. Excellent food. They have a standard of quality. Dined in. Parking is a little crazy and there is not much. Aside from a small parking lot behind, it’s easy to walk to.

This was a great experience in Newport. I couldn’t believe the excellent service we received from our waiter. Place had old school charm and felt like you were having Sunday dinner at your grandma’s house. Food was on point, my steak was cooked to perfection, and the chicken was delicious. Dessert my fiancé and I split the tiramisu and it was one of the best we’ve ever had. When we come back here for vacation this will be the first spot I’d come back for dinner. Suggest you do the same

Momma Luisa was amazing! Our waitress was Nicole. She was knowledgeable, friendly and professional. She could not have been nicer. We started with salads an appetizer portion of ravioli, and bruschetta. For dinner 2 of us had eggplant parm and the other two had the sacchettoni special which was amazing! Our wives just loved it so we didn’t see our entrees again. We all shared a tartufo for dessert. The food is both excellent and reasonably priced. The restaurant has a special ambience and is divided into smaller rooms it was a wonderful night.
