My niece REALLY liked the catfish sandwich and the Mac and cheese (as you can see, that didn’t make it home). The catfish sandwich had a LOT of flavor, and as someone who has only had tofu once and didn’t like the texture, they way the cook the tofu at Vegan Soul is AMAZING. I definitely see myself having that sandwich AGAIN!

The food here is awesome! The okra soup was perfect, it was the right mixture of sweet and savory. I got the Soul Platter and the Mac and cheese tasted almost like out was made with the real stuff. The staff was on point and the food came out quickly. We walked out with three pieces of cake ( we were too full to eat it there) and they were all phenomenal! My favorite was the Red Velvet.

Honestly, not as impressed as we were anticipating. The service was VERY slow (far too understaffed to keep up with the business). The takeout service seemed to get priority over dine in guests. People that sat down before us, got served before us. The priority was out of order, and we ended up spending two hours here. We were very close to leaving because we didn’t want to wait anymore. However, that being said, as expected the vegan food was great. The Soul Platter is a good meal to get. Very filling.

I had the cheese burger (bout 2 years ago) w/coconut bacon and was impressed. So, Wednesday I sparked up ah taste for it and planned my day to drive from bloomfield to the location (bout 30 minutes away) and back to bloomfield (East Hills Middle school) for a musically. The voicemail state Their business hours-One of the days being Wednesday 12-6p.. So, I went on the site to order.. The toast site stated:” Online ordering NOT available.” So I’m like:”What! Naw.. Something wrong… I’ll still go cuz I can order on the kiosk..” Put the directions in G-Maps.. It stated:”Vegan soul is closed today.” So I took that as a hint to go to a vegan spot closer to the middle school.. But, I irritated cuz the info was misleading and I had my palette and pocket set-up for that burger. So, Thursday came.. I place the burger in my cart and I’m like where’s the coconut bacon burger.. Didn’t see it.. Selected cheese burger cuz I’m like maybe it come on there… (My battery dying… I’ll be back )

Food was great. A staff member advised me on his favorite food option which is the DVS Burger and it was the best vegan restaurant meal I have ever eaten. Another reviewer below suggested the Hibiscus drink and he was correct about its deliciousness. Will be visiting again!

Visited the east location, a gem in this part of town. Super clean and inviting on the inside. Had their tofu sandwich prepared similarly to cornmeal breaded catfish. Was very good. The slaw and Mac & Cheese were delicious as well. This will be on my go to list of places in Detroit when I visit.
